Antigua holidays

Historical forts, museums, sugar mills and harbors may not sound like your idea of a tropical holiday destination but, put them together on a Caribbean island along with 365 stunning palm-fringed beaches and coves and you have Antigua, otherwise known as the "Heart of the Caribbean". Antigua is a beach lover’s paradise, boasting attractive landscape, and beautiful reef protected bays. Antigua holidays offer a wide range of hotels, ranging from family resorts to luxury hotels aimed specifically for couples.

Enjoy Antigua holidays which have a beautiful setting, a rich culture, good accommodations and services, delicious cuisine, and many possibilities of entertainment to suit every taste and temperament. As it is such a dry island Antigua holidays attract thousands of holidaymakers throughout the rainy season May – October as the temperature remains around 28 degrees and still offers approximately 8hrs sunshine each day to bask in.

St. John’s is the busy capital of Antigua with a wealth of shops, boutiques and chic restaurants and bars. Make sure you take a trip here on a Friday or Saturday to experience its Public Market and watch the city come alive on your Antigua holidays. Locals barter for the best farm produce, fishermen lay out their catch and many local craftsmen show off their work making it a noisy hive of entertainment.

The coral reef surrounding Antigua makes it famous for scuba diving and snorkelling experiences, or if you’re more tempted by relaxation you can sample one of the many idyllic boat trips that take you around the whole island in a day offering the chance to swim in the glistening waters and enjoy a freshly grilled fish lunch.

I would love to visit St. Johns the great capital of Barbuda and Antigua again. It was really an awesome trip last summer. Actually I got my air tickets at a very reasonable price from Bangalore, India and I was astonished at such an affordable rates.
