Is it possible to dirve from cancun mexico to xcalak and get a boat to san pedrocaptian morgans resort? is there a border check in san pedro? What is the cost of the boat ride?

it is possible to drive to from cancun to belize- though very very expensive! there is a bus which leaves from playa del carmen and goes into belize- which is very economical- i think about 60$ pp one way. there is a border crossing ...i haven't heard much about other that it takes a long long time to get thru....the belizean's are very thourough!!! yes, you can take a ferry service from belize city to san pedro--- but is a long boat ride ( 1 1/2 hours) and expect your luggage to get very wet! though is a pretty ride! maya island air offers a flight on an island hopper which is very economical and much faster--- plus it's much easier that way too get to your hotel....which is off the beaten path on the north end of the island. i was just there in august. feel free to e-mail with any more questions.
