I have been going to Harbour Island for more than 30 years. The island is wonderful -but I highly recommend that you avoid Romora Bay. I recently had 12 guests stay there for my June wedding and they were all treated terribly from the moment they made their reservations to the time they checked out. The man who runs the place - Lionel - was completely inappropriate and rude. He and his staff partied at my reception and he even propositioned me and my guests! We were appalled. He overcharged many of them and made our reception and their stay completely unbearable. The place is gorgeous - Lionel makes it ugly.

I cannot agree more with Sara!! It is the staff that did make our stay bearable. When we casually mentioned to the staff that their boss, Lionel,is a deadful man, they smiled and nodded. People who have jobs on the island hold onto them as they are not easy to come by and Lionel takes advantage of this.They (staff) cannot do anything in return except smile and nod.When tooling around Harbour Island in my golf cart I would stop and talk to the natives. They always asked where I was staying...Lionel's reputation is island wide and all the folks at the Eleuthra airport laugh when his name is mentioned.
I heard the place is for sale and I hope this happens quickly...it will be the only thing that will save this lovely property.
