I came back from Santiago yesterday - had a car for a week from Europcar. Starting price for an Economic car(4 door but small, runs fine) was about $139 plus some tax & I took additional personal injury about $4 per day - total came to $201 for the week when I went to return yesterday. You should use a credit card which will cover the collition - if not, you will be paying another about $150 more for that coverage. I will stongly suggest not to drive without full coverage. There are lots moped all around you - you tuch any one of them - you will have lots of problem.

One more note - they give you a car with empty tank - gas is about $5 per Gal.
