Has anyone stayed at or seen more than one of the Iberostar resorts in the Playa del Carmen area? We stayed at the Quetzel 4 years ago and loved it, but don't know how it compares to the newer resorts (Paraiso Beach or Lindo). Thanks for any comments.

We have stayed at Quetzal, Paraiso Del Mar and Iberostar Cozumel. We prefer the Quetzal because of it's size and proximity to Playa. The Paraiso is newer, nicer and has a bigger pool, but you can't see the ocean from the pool and there is alot of walking. Almost a full mile from the lobby to the beach. There are trams that run, but we always were too impatient to wait. Cozumels Iberostar is very isolated - 20 minutes from town and the beach isn't swimmable. I think it would be ideal for a honeymoon couple to feel by themselves. The Paraiso has a wonderful pool and the Lindo is supposed to be even better and bigger, but we don't like the long trip into Playa as we like to shop and spend most evenings there. I would say the food and drinks are comparable to all.

We've stayed twice at the Ibeorstar Paraiso Beach. In fact, we are getting married there in three weeks.

It's a beautiful resort -- spectacular beach, lovely pool and poolside areas and superb service. The beds are comfy (we found this to be rare) and the resort is truly all - inclusive (no extras for room service, premium liquor, etc.). We checked out 14 resorts in September '03 and we settled on the Iberostar for the wedding. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Its my daughter's wedding...August 28. She has pictures of a wedding at the Parisio and its really nice. She was pleased and glad to have a "preview" of what she might expect.

If you go to webshots.com you'll find pictures of the Paraiso Del Mar and the Lindo. If the pictures don't sell you on ther resort...nothing will..they are wonderful. I think there's pictures posted of a wedding at the Iberostars in town..Tucan perhaps. They the Del Mar and Beach are really nice...Lindo was being built when we were last there.

I am about ready to book my wedding there for May 5th next year. I noticed that a couple of you may have some pictures of Paraiso Del Mar. I would love it if I could get a review and some pictures. Thanks for anything that you can give.

I'm just starting the wedding planning thing and feeling totally lost. How early do I need to book this? Do they offer any sort of discount for reserving a large block of hotel rooms?
I would be interested in any information about weddings at this resort.

I am also planning on getting married at the resort in March of 2005, would love to get any info, tips or pictures.

my husband and i stayed at the iberostar parisio lindo last may(2005) for our honeymoon and it was amazing.any of you honeymooners won't be displeased. i don't know if there is a better vacation spot. the resort is so so so beautiful.
