Honeymoon

Postby Holley on Wed Jun 11, 2003 5:02 am

My fiance and I have reservations at the Royale in July. With all of the bad reviews, I'm a little nervous! Somebody, please tell me something good about the place. We are renting the junior suite. Is this one ok? Please help!

girlfriend and i will be there mid july, maybe we can meet for a drink. we have not been there, but have been to several resorts in mexico and usually find that they are what you make of them. it is not the U.S., so the food is different...not bad, just different. life style is relaxed so if you are not willing to slow down you will be dissappointed. from the posts i have read if you are wanting a place to relax and do some one on one, you will love the place. if you are looking for nite life, you may want something else

I don't know where you are reading the bad reviews but go to the resorts webpage and read the guestbook for some positive reports. http://www.karismahotels.com/eldorado_royal/index.htm
I met several wedding or honeymoon couples at the resort and they all enjoyed themselves. I stayed in the Junior suite and it was great. Try for the honeymoon upgrade though.

Have a great time and don't worry.

We just returned from El Dorado Royale and had a wonderful time. We were also nervous about the reviews, but I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the Royale. We stayed in a Jr. Suite with Garden View and it was very nice. The hot tub was great, just don't put in too much bubble bath! The entire place is incredibly clean. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. Take lots of $1s and tip a little...doesn't have to be much, just a dollar or two is much appreciated. The beach is mostly rocky, but there are 7 pools all with good ocean views and swim-up bars so it works out fine. If you've read about the "smell" in other reviews, don't worry about it. You have to remember that you're in a jungle and that occasionaly you can smell the mangrove trees, but it really wasn't very often that I even noticed it. The shows that Fernando did in the evenings were always fun as long as you're not too prudish & the swing bar is great. Be sure to tell them that it is your honeymoon and you'll get some extras. Relax about the honeymoon, if your experience is anything like ours, you'll definitely not have problems at the Royale and will just be able to enjoy yourselves. Congratulations on the wedding and have a great trip!

My husband and I were married yesterday. We are planning to spend our honeymoon at the Royale in a swim-up jacuzzi suite. I am desperately trying to find someone who has stayed in those suites so I can get some feedback. Apparently, they were recently built (according to my travel agent) and are at the opposite end of the resort of the casitas. Please email me with anything you can tell us about these suites.
