Hidden Beach Resort

Postby DAN on Mon Jul 07, 2003 1:35 pm

Just spent a wonderful few days at this au natural resort. This is a great place to relax, unwind and meet some terrific new friends. We were originally staying at the El Dorado Resort, but visited this next door resort, met some of the guests and they talked us into changing. Good decision. The accomodations, food, staff, facilities and grounds were top drawer. Only 40 rooms, but the resort was intimate and everyone became friends. First time at an au natural resort and we are planning to return next year. Only adults. My wife almost cried when we had to leave. To all the people we met, thanks for your support with my wife. We have never spent a better vacation.

Made reservations for january. How's the beach? It looks a little rocky in the pictures.

Jean,

For what it's worth, we've got a swim-up suite there in Nov. and the beach does look a bit smallish & rocky (bring aqua-shoes). Doesn't bother us though because if we want to focus more on just swimming, etc., Playa de Carmen is 25 minutes North via collectivo and if you've ever been there, the beach is absolutely beautiful. Lots of bars with tables and so on right on the beach. It's also topless and since my wife wears a thong anyhow, there isn't that much of a diff. It'll be our first time to a joint like this, so it should be interesting to say the least. Have fun!

Another Kev, we'll be there from 11/7 - 11/11. THis is our first time to a resort like this too. We're looking forward to running around like kids again. I even bought a new kite!

Need some advice from those that have visited. Seriously considering going in January unfortunately I will be doing it alone. Is it a good place for singles to go or should I look elsewhere? Not really looking to "hook up", just looking for some new friends.

Thanks,
Tommy

We are going in Jan (3-13) in a swim-up suite -- anyone else out there that will be there during this time? -Dave

My wife and I just returned from HBR, and had a fabulous time. Food was terrific, people really friendly. I don't think it is too welcoming to singles, but there were a few during our stay. I had a chance to talk with these guys, and they seemed to have a good time. Great place to really let it all hang out. We also went to Tulum and one recommendation: go early in the day... it gets really crowded there.

HBR

Hi,
My wife and I are looking into another summer vacation. We have been to Desire/Hedos etc and was wondering if HBR was tame, wild or in between. Did you see or hear of any "playing" going on? We are very quite about playing, and really want to go to HBR, but do not want to impose goa resort that looks down on playing couples. thanks
