i wouldn't bother trying to contact paola - she never answers her mobile phone and she denies receiving emails.
we just got back from a fantastic 2 week holiday in belize and mexico, and hemingways was the only bad experience of the whole trip. we were forced to cancel one night of our booking and emailed her a week before to let her know. she replied saying it was fine and that we were still confirmed for our final two nights.
when we arrived in tulum at 9pm due to a late bus we discovered that she had given our room away and denied ever receiving our email or replying, leaving us with no place to stay for our last two nights. to top it all, i have a broken foot and we are two girls travelling alone, and instead of calmly discussing it with us she went nuts screaming that we were liars and told us to f*** off in italian.
i have resent her email to her several times and she is accusing me of making the whole thing up. the woman is insane, the cabanas and restaurant vastly overpriced (we ate there at the beginning of our vacation), and there are far far nicer places along the beach - try le zebra or posada la mar, both are great.
