I do not want to rent a car that I will only use twice so I was wondering what the best way to get to the resort would be? I have read about collectivos being fairly inexpensive but are they at the airport or do I have to go somewhere to hire a collectivo to take us. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We took an ADO bus to PLaya del Carmen and then took a taxi from the bus station to akumal. You can walk 2 blocks from the bus terminal to catch a collectivo and it is mich cheaper but they dont have much room for luggage. You can only take 4 people in a taxi though
