Very poor service - un-friendly staff very dark rooms - NO BEACH - certainly not 5 star hotel - POOR POOR POOR - watered down drinks - if I had drank the amount I drank with half decent booze I would never have been able to stand "BUYER BEWARE"

I'am planning a vacation with my 2 children ages 1 & 3. Is this resort child friendly? and I've seen some poor reviews as well as great reviews?

I just went there during May and I enjoyed it very much. Staff was very friendly! Everyone said hello and tried to help in any way. This property has a very small beach, but the pools make up for the lack of beach. Its not about the booze at a resort. Its about the surroundings and the people that make a trip wonderful. This property is not even one year old yet, they still are working on their customer skills. give it time, and it will be up there with the best!!

Well looking at the reviews, I see there are pros and cons coming from people that have been there. Thanks!
I've already committed to this trip, so I will try to make the best of it. I appreciate the negative notes. If I encounter any of these experiences, I won't feel so bad or be frustrated.
I'm going with an open mind and the idea of not hearing sirens, horns, louds noises and traffic......get my drif!
If the water(pool) is clear, then that will be a treat. Galveston beach will make you appreciate any beach!

My family just got back from Flamenco Xcaret. We were a little nervous because of the reviews. I will never go by reviews, because I found that some people love to complain! We had a ball!!! The place is beautiful. The rooms dark? Thats insane! The rooms were perfect it even had a refrigerator they filled daily a electronic safe we used every day. The service was great. The food was very good the drinks were great. The beach was small but beautiful and the entertainment was fabulous. My kids cried when we had to leave. They had more things for my kids then any all Inclusive we've been to. We are planning to go back spring break

I visited this Resort in January, and it certainly does have its pros and cons.
I work for a Travel Agency, so I did alot of research prior to going.
This is a huge resort, and I found the front staff very unprofessional, but you have to realize that you are in Mexico and you will not recieve the same service as you would in Canada or the US. But the service in the restaurants were outstanding! Yes, the beach is not there, but if you want a place to just relax with 5 huge pools to choose from, beautiful grounds and excellent restarants, check this place out. I would give it 4 stars. If you would like my opinion on any of the resorts, e-mail me as I can tell you which ones are worth going to for the same amount of money. But it is a very nice resort! good luck

Just got back home from two weeks at the grand flamenco First week was brill second was crap due to being eaten alive with mosquitos. We were sat in the lobby bar on monday 14 july on the wicker chairs when it all started bites to our legs and arms went to reception for a doctor and got told not one on site they could get us one for $60 so we had to suffer then i noticed the water there was very dirty and told them about it they said it was cleaned last week funny i was there then and i didnt see anybody in it then. Then we had 2 days of sickness and still no cleaning up so beware il definetly not go back there il give it 2 stars its not worth a 10 hour flight from the uk

We stayed at the resort for one week (husband and eight year old son). The grounds are amazingly beautiful. The front desk staff, I will admit needs improvement. The manager's are wonderful and ready to correct/accommodate their guests. The staff was nothing but, friendly to us the entire stay. If you don't like bugs then stay home or take repellent...it doesn't matter what resort you stay at - Your in the Tropics! - You will have bugs. Victor at the Pool Bar is a wonderful bartender that takes the time to engage the guests. He works very hard to make crafty drinks (Try the Mayan River) and I had no problem with the alcohol (just remember sun and alcohol catches up with you quickly). The Kid's Club is great and tubing in their huge pools. The only disadvantage you will have is if you want to go to town (TAXI $8/each way or you can rent a car -but, not advised if you dont have to - take out extra insurance deduct. can be 10% of the cars value). Xcaret Park is Great and you will get a free one day pass - don't miss the night show. If you want to return as many times as you like after that you will just pay $20 (Considering the reg. price). If you like taking pictures load up on film at this resorts with Ruins and a beutiful view of the ocean.

This vacation was by far the best vacation my family has ever been on. One week just wasn't enough. Although the smell was a little unpleasant at times- it was far outweighed by the joy it brought my family. we had a blast! according to my son andrew, "victor is the bestest bartender ever!" hahaha he could mix the best of the best! the shows at night were terrific and exciting- good for both adults and children. the food is outstanding (as were the drinks) and the whole atmosphere was awesome we couldnt get enough of it . the xcaret made our first trip to mexico very pleasurable- infact were going back again this summer!
