Fisherman's Village Hotel

Postby Susann on Tue Oct 01, 2002 11:44 am

Does anyone have some info on Fisherman's Village Hotel in Playacar - Playa del Carmen Mexico? I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything on the hotel. I made reservations there for my family. Any information would be truly appreciated.

Thank You, Susann.

I have been living in Playa del Carmen for the last three years and I know the Fisherman's Village. It is a nice hotel, not too full of people and with one of the nicest beaches of Playacar. There are not a lot of activities on the beach or at the pool and in the night you do not have the shows as in the big all inclusive but I would rather stay there than in other hotels.

It is a really nice hotel relaxing and with a beautiful beach so that you may enjoy for sure your hoenymoon. You may horse ride, junglecross and scuba dive with other organisations. As for windsurfing and sailing I doubut since all this area has all inclusive hotels and they are not happy to have guests from others hotels using their facilities.

Feel free to visit my site at www.enjoytravellin.com and do not hesitate to contact me in case you wish further information.

Best regards,

We own at fisherman's village, it is a great place and you can walk to playa del carmen, and also get a bus in town and also take the ferry to cozamel.

Wonderful beach too.

My family would be interested in staying there again. We stayed there in Feb 2002. It was very nice, quiet, and staff very friendly.

We purchased a 2BR in Feb 04.
This was a new decor and absolutely great.
I did not see the other units.
The trading shoud be easier than RCI
since they are owned units.
Convenience of Playa, and laidback unlike some of the huge hotels in the area.

I own at Fisherman's. The Resort is very nice. The units and the beach are really great. The food at the restaurant is reasonably prices and above average in quality. HOWEVER, the management group which runs this resort is... VERY DIFFICULT to deal with. While I really like the resort, I regret my purchase because they are so difficult when it comes to making reservations at the resort. NOTE: They operate two larger/lesser quality resorts in Cancun. They work HARD to push you from their Fisherman's Resort property to the CUN properties. I suspect that Fisherman's Resort is the 'bait' for a lot of people who end up only getting to stay in CUN because Fisherman's is 'sold out'. Even 9 months in advance (high season, not holiday week) is difficult to secure at Fisherman's. Good Luck!

My daughter and I ate lunch there last week. It is a very beautiful resort and the food was excellent.

You'll have a great time there.
Ask to see the timeshare salse person,
Camilla, she'll show you around, she lives near the resort.

We've already booked a week there for 2005.

Fishermans is nice, but the sales staff are WAY too pushy. I'll NEVER go back because of them. They had my wife and I in a meeting for 4 hours. Everytime we said no, they would bring in a greasier guy than before to get us to sign the contract for a condo. It was also amazing that the price went from 75,000 to 800 in that 4 hour period. Its nice and if ya want a cheap condo...wait them out, you'll get it for less than a grand.

Fisherman's Village

We just bought a timeshare at Fisherman's Village. The sales pitch was low key and we were treated very well. We saw some other resorts on our trip including the Mayan Palace. Unless you are into the party scene Fisherman's is the place for you. I even ended up teaching a couple of kids to snorkel there while their parents watched and had a blast. The parents bought my wife and I drinks later that day. Great sandy beach and top notch staff. The rooms are incredible and everyone has a great view. What more could you ask? :D

Fishersman's Village- Playa

Postby triplet mama on Thu Dec 15, 2005 3:04 pm

We own at Fisherman's and I called yesterday to roll over our week to RCI. The service clerk told me Fisherman's lost their pool to the storm, but the rooms were in good shape. They expect to have the pool back in April 06.

More than pool missing at Fisherman's

Postby loradorado on Sat Jan 14, 2006 1:14 pm

I just got back from Playa del Carmen (1-7-05)and walked over to Fisherman's to see for myself what kind of damage they got. The pool is completely wiped out and under construction. The pool resturant, spa and all the rooms that were close to the beach have been damaged badly. Walls are missing, or cracked badly, contents washed away. There is lots of reconstruction going on in the area... I'm not sure why Fisherman's reconstruction is going so slowly. When I went to talk to someone in the office, they gave me a phone number to call reservations and would not give me any information regarding expected construction schedule.... at the rate they were going, I don't think they will be done by April.
Not all the rooms were destroyed in the storm and there were some guests staying in the place. ... although I am glad I wasn't one of them.
If anyone gets a first hand look at the place, I would appreciate any feed back on how construction is progressing this year before I book my week with them.

Damage at Fisherman's Village????

Postby tripz on Mon Jun 19, 2006 6:34 pm

Wanted to know if anyone has been to Fisherman's Village recently? I own and just got an email for a "rebuild fee" but can't get any info from the company on the true status of repair and damage. Trying to sell my timeshare due to financial constraints. Any real info is welcome.
