El Dorado Resort & Spa Feedback Please!

Postby Ray on Thu Jun 10, 2004 7:15 pm

Hey I'm Ray from Auburn, Alabama and my fiancé and I are honeymooning at the El Dorado Resort and Spa Aug. 8th-Aug.15, 2004. I just want to know from as many people as possible what to expect, what there is to do there, if anyone snorkeled on the reef, basically anything you can tell me. We're staying in a junior jacuzzi suite so anybody with feedback on that type of room or any room would be awesome. And be honest! Thanks.
Ray

Hello Ray!

Husband and I stayed at EDRS 5/15 thru 5/22/04 and had a fabulous time. During that time, they were completing numerous renovations, so by now should be complete and looking great. The oceanfront rooms at the far south end of the resort were being completely renovated during that time (looked like they were days away from finishing and saw them carting new TV's to that area).

We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Loved our room (#1602) which was a oceanview/gardenview type room, all marble, two level and beautiful!! I think some of the oceanfront rooms have tile floors instead of marble, but are all very compariable.

We as well as numerous guests snorkled right at the resort and all comments were very positive. We even found a bottle floating by us by the reef and my husband grabbed it and later we took it and had the bartender open it up. It had a note from "Happy Easter 2001" so had been in the water for some time. We were thrilled with having found this little keepsake.

Enrique and Super Tony with the animation crew are wonderful....they remember your name, sit down and chat, make you smile, etc. You can choose to lay back and relax on your own, or get involved in an activity. It's your choice.

Drinks were great, food presentation was awesome (no one seemed to follow the dress code and wore what ever they wanted to dinner).

Only complaint I would have is it sometimes gets a little warm during dinner (not bad for being my only complaint).

If you have any questions, just drop me an email and I will try to answer.

Have fun!!
Julia

We are going 4-5-05 did you have any trouble with dinner reservations, and did you hear of other people e-mailing a week ahead of the reservation to conferm up-to 3- days dinner reservations? and if so what was the e-mail address for doing so.Any good tips about getting the most of the place and what should we bring to help?
