I, along with my husband are heading to the EDR the 1st week of August. What can we expect weather wise? Also, anyone know what the fees are for a taxi to Cancun and/or Playa?

Not sure about weather but as far as Taxis are concerned, here you go.

Taxis to Playa del Carmen $19US (whether you are alone or fill up the taxi)

Taxis to Cancun $31US (same comment as above)

We are also going to El Dorado Royale on aug 6 for 3 nights. i believe they have free shuttles from edr to cancun or playa.
