Drinking Water

Postby Jenn on Thu Mar 03, 2005 1:16 pm

I am headed to Nassau for the 1st time. I am partial to bottled water- anyone recall how much it is to buy bottled water there and should I bring my own? Thanks!!

bottled water is sold in many stores and
by the waterfront for $1 -3$ depending on the size.grocery stores sell it for 99 cents a gallon and your hotel might sell some for 1.50 so you don't have to carry it from the grocery store. the locals don't even drink there own water

Drinking water in the Bahamas

Postby nealw on Tue Oct 18, 2005 7:05 pm

Maria & Steve,

It simpy depends on the source of the water used for the ice or to clean food items. "Most" halfway decent hotels buy purified ice or have a water purification system.

Simply ask the restaurant manager/or manager on duty (not a waiter) what the water situation is.

While in Mexico, I "think" fruit or a salad caused me to get a very upset stomach once....I always remember to ask now.

Have fun!
