Tobago diving

Postby deepblueboy on Thu May 04, 2006 4:54 pm

My wife and I made two weeks diving in Tobago earlier this year and it was spectacular. So much so we ae going back in september. The dive sites were fantastic and i was really suprised how much coral colour there was because i always thought the caribbean was bland. We dived in speyside which definately wasnt bland but beautiful reef. we saw several sharks mostly black tips but some nurse sharks, eagle rays and turtle but what was so amazing was the amount of eels and the fish life. I decided to go with Caribstu because of good recommendations on the internet and was very happy. to be honest the price was very expensive the most we've ever paid for diving and i was reluctant at first but after meeting Stuart and then diving the first day i was very glad we chose him. when diving it is not allways best to go for the cheapest. I made use of the personal service because i like to take photos and hate having to keep up with a group. we started most dives at 6am and made two dives each morning. most dives lasted more than 60 minutes and stuart was very much the pefect dive guide. we explored a range of dives and he would choose the best dive site each day. My favourite was one stuart calls snap crackle pop, where we had a little current and stunning sponge gardens. its the first time ive dived and truely been able to relax. Normally im watching my wife or she is watching me or we are watching the less experienced divers in a group but as there was no one in the water but us and stuart it was so relaxing. we basically made our own dive plan knowing he was always there watching us and we could dive at our speed. on the surface the intervals are nice and long and relaxed an stuart is the host with ample supplies of ice water and fruit juice. he also gave us gatorade and a variety of fruit each day as well as slices of cake. when we returned from our dives I noticed many of the boats were just going out and were quite crowded. One time we started later to catch the low tide and we saw other divers drop behind us and then fly past like a race. if you want nice relax diving then i recommend stuart his web address is www.caribstu.com

Highly recommend Caribstu.

Firstly we would both like to thank stuart for some great dives and for looking after us so professionally and with a focus on safety.
As you know in the Caribbean it's so unusual for any body who has anything to do with diving to be punctual and reliable and Stuart is both!!

Finally we appreciated the fact that Stuart was prepared to be flexible as
regards water, current and sea state to make our holiday the best possible. This may have meant that we did not go to the dive site he first planned, but he took us to the dive site which he thought would give us the biggest bang for our buck taking current conditions into account.
