Utila! Caribbean! Views! Utila Boutique Apartments

Postby Mango Tree Buidling on Tue Nov 18, 2008 3:51 pm

Location: Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras, Central America (Utila Downtown Penthouse Apartment, steps from Bay & Diving) 13 km from coast -- La Ceiba, HN
Ferry service 2 times daily, approximately 1 hour.

FANTASTIC diving on the Mayan Reef! Second largest reef in the world (largest in northern hemisphere!) Fantastic apartment, central, across the street from diver centers, excellent restaurants, bargain prices. Huge private deck soverlooking bay, main street, boats, ships and Caribbean life! No mosquito nets needed in these lovely apartments!

Accommodations:
Penthouse Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Office, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

The Penthouse Apartment is on Main Street, downtown Utila, the top floor of the Mango Tree Building This entire third floor used to be the Wine Shop and offices. Now there is a small entry office, a large great room with living/dining/kitchen, a pantry, bedroom with walk in type closet, and upgraded bath! The entire apartment was remodeled in 2101, and now has an air conditioner split as well as ceiling fans. The huge deck is built around a very old Mango Tree and it is like being in a treehouse, with the birds, particularly hummingbirds sharing the area!

Inside is a queen sized bed, cable TV, flat screen TV, table and chairs, a nice kitchenette with refrigerator and every appliance you can think of (microwave, toaster oven, electric grill, sandwich grill, etc.), sofa, chairs, as well as an entry two desks, WiFi, broadband internet, air conditioning, privacy!

The Deck Apartment; sleeps 4 in two comfortable bedrooms:
The Deck Apartment is on the second floor, with a huge deck! There are two bedrooms, one bath, large kitchen with lots of cool appliances, large dining room with Honduan hardwood table and 6 chairs, two desks, living area with flat screen TV. Two French type doors lead onto the deck, covered and open. One bedroom has a queen bed, closet and little dresser/desk; the other has twin beds and closet. The living area and both bedrooms have separate air conditioners, so you can cool the area needed.

These large, spacious apartment have lovely views and are very comfortable. There are island and Central American decorations. They are centrally located, across the street from a dive shop, CocoLoco and super restaurants. They are truly up in the top of a Mango Tree, like a Penthouse treehouse with a great bay view and the Deck Apartment with it's huge deck and super views. They are the two top floors of the Mango Tree Business Center.

A favorite spot when you can get in these apartments.

High speed internet and cable tv included, as well as water, sewer, propane gas etc. Electricity is paid by guest.

Utila! Caribbean! Views! Utila Boutique Apartments

Talk about jumping in with both feet. Anyway, Utila is a great little rock. I've spent a considerable amount of time there and will be spending more in the years to come. Happy to answer any questions you might have (and Steve is a great resource).

Just remember to take the same or slightly more precautions that you would take at home. Lock your door, don't flash jewlery or cash, don't walk home alone late at night. Just because you are on an idyllic tropical island doesn't mean that you can throw caution to the wind.
