Cozumel Hotels

Postby Susan Hill on Tue Feb 17, 2004 7:04 pm

My fiance and I are planning a honeymoon to Cozumel in June. I have read tons of information, reviews, etc. on-line but am still struggling to find the best place for us to stay. We want an all-inclusive, good beach, nice rooms, and a variety of food options. We'd also like to stay somewhere that offers lots of activities, some evening entertainment, and good drinks. We are in our early -mid 20s and want somewhere kind of quiet (not many kids) but not too quiet. I've looked into the Grand Occidental, Melia, Iberostar, Fiesta Americana, and Reef Club. Any comments about these that are relevant to us would help!

I have been to all these places except the Melia.

All of the all inclusives have kids...that's the vig. There are not adults only all inclusive resorts on Cozumel.

I like the Iberostar...great property. The Occidental Grand "probably" has few children...I'm guessing because it's more expensive. The Fiesta Americana is nice but it's more like a "hotel hotel"...one building with elavators, closer to town. The Iberostar and Occidental Grand offer individual "4 plexes" spread through out the resort. Both of these have more charm and character. I beleive the Occidental Grand has a better beach than the Iberostar. There will probably be younger people at the Iberostar.

Drawbacks...both of these resorts are far from town. So you have to cab it each way.

The Americana is much closer to town.

Have a great trip.
