Can anyone give me their good or bad experiences with car rental agencies in Belize City?

We have had very good experiences with the Budget dealer right at the airport.
We have to drive on the Coastal Road etc and had a tire get low on us, Budget upgraded us, no problem. They will also give you a ride back to your location if you are not flying out when you return your car. The Budgets on the Northern Hiway and Airport have the same owner, very reputable. Hope this isn't too late, but, you will be back, I'm sure.

Rentals can be very expensive in BZ. I've found vehicles from $65 to $120 a day. My suggestion, if your doing a lot of driving is to get a 4 wheel drive with diesel fuel. Saves you some money in gas because gas is more ridiculous then there rental fees.

So far I've rented with both Crystal and Budget. Both comparable.
