When there are no cruise ships at dock, CGB is quiet and relaxing. There are 4-5 places to eat, have a drink, and shop. You can visit Callwood distillery, but there is not much to see.

The point is, if you are going somewhere WITHOUT resorts, big hotels, lots of people, locals trying to entice you to buy things.

This is your spot.

Eat dinner at Myetts. Have lunch at Stanleys(cheesburger of course), and don't forget to leave your business card(And look for mine!) and master the brass ring.

We are always on a Catamaran, so I have no room recommendations.

Nice quiet relaxing place with some restaurant/bars right on the beach. Check out www.agapecottages.com for a terrific place to stay.

We have called in a number of times on cruise ships. Particularly, if there are British ships in port it can get very busy at CGB.
I recall overhearing one retired military gentleman saying that "the last time he had seen as many Brits on a beach was the D Day landings" :)
