Cabanas in Tulum

Postby Alissa on Wed Nov 12, 2003 12:57 am

Hey, does anyone have recommendations for cabanas (or rooms) in Tulum? Cabanas Copal is booked and the only other one I've seen online is Cabanas La Zebra, but I haven't seen any reviews. Advise? We'll be there 4 Christmas this year (2003.)

You should stay on the Akumal side for sure. The Tulum side is the oldest part of the resort and not very nice. Please take my advise because Im not kidding. My wife and I were there about 3 months ago. We only visited the Tulum side once because it was nasty!

Enjoy your stay and best wishes!

Hey, I did end up staying at Cabanas La Zebra over Christmas, and it was fine... not nasty at all! In fact, how anyone could call Tulum nasty I will never understand... where the heck are these people from??? Tulum was almost unbearably beautiful. If it had been any more of a utopia (or the mosquitos had been on vacation) I probably wouldn't have come home at all, got fired from my job, lost my house and kids... so on and so forth. Anyway, Cabanas La Zebra was cool, anyone wondering should also check out Hotel Los Lirios or the very exotic and more expensive Maya Tulum.
