Has anyone gone this far south by car and stayed in a hotel..please tell me everything! Everytiem we go to the Yucatan, we head farther south and more secluded. All we need is a room, a beach and a bar!

Hello Lee. Yes we have traveled from Playa del Carmen South to Boca Paila by car. If your needs are seclusion, clean rooms, good food , (several choices) along with beach and bar then you cannot go wrong with either Boca Paila or Punta Allen. You can get a pretty good look at the accomodations at Cuzan Guest House online. I was looking for bonefishing and other targets but thoroughly enjoyed the drive (slow and rutted road so relax and enjoy the jungle views) and quiet time in Boca. You may want to choose Punta but it is a little further South. Cabanas (there were several choices) were all decent beach front. No Air Cond of course. I would recommend a jeep.
