Blue Sky-
Stepping out of our rental Jeep, I immediately felt a tremendous sense of relaxation and tranquility. The mile we drove off of 307 seemed to put light years between us and the highway. A few guests had just check out and were gathered around the centrally located Restaurant saying their goodbyes - all had smiles on their faces, and all had kind words for us. They remarked on what a wonderful place the Blue Sky is and how we were going to love it there.
Boy were they right!
I have never seen the attention to detail thats been put into every aspect of the Blue Sky anywhere else. Being able to sit up in bed and see the ocean is something I don't think I could enough of.
At night, the sense of tranqulity is even more pronounced. If you're lucky like we were, you'll see a giant Blue Heron moon bathing under a full moon and fishing 20 feet from where you relax on the beach. If you hear any noise above the braking waves, it's most likely going to be your soul begging you to never leave this place...
Another thing about the Blue Sky that stands out in my mind would have to be the help. Mariana, the Hotel manager, is a wonderful person, always smiling (wouldn't you be if you lived there?) and almost always on site and available to help. She was able to offer information on local restaurants, souvenir shops, cenotes and other information about the area, always with a warm, friendly smile.
We were fortunate enough to eat at the quaint open air Italian restaurant located on site and were surprised by Marco, our waiter, serenading us with Mexican love songs while we ate an amazing assortment of fresh seafood, exquisitely prepared and wonderfully presented. It was a night I will NEVER forget.
My only regret was not being able to spend more time at the Blue Sky. It's an amazing place, and my next trip to the Yucatan will include an extended stay at the Blue Sky.
