I've only dreamt about the Caribbean, never acutually been there. My main interest is snorkeling. I want to see coral and fish. That's about it. My needs aren't that complicated. Secondly, I want a fabulous beach. Places under consideration are Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel, Negril, Grace Bay--Provo, Dominican Republic. I would welcome any comments specific to snorkeling in any of these places and would also welcome alternate suggestions. Thank you.

Great snorkeling in Dominican Republic.
I've also snorkeled in Bahamas (Great Bahama Island) near Taino Beach resort - just be aware you may meet some stingrays there (harmless most of the time)
Another great place for snorkeling - Aruba (Baby Beach lagoon)
The most impressive was the ship wreck - great experience.
