Any good or bad news about this place? Going in June to get Married on the beach. I have been working with Cesar. Any news would be great.

Appears they have a bunch of reviews on this resort - Im thinking about going there also for vacation.

Just got back from a week's stay on 4/26. Second time back in two years. Last year's experience was phenomenal - prompting this year's return.

Service has declined dramatically. Don't know if its due to the later season (last year we went in March) or new management(?). Last year the grounds were spotless. Now, debris from 2-3 days prior still is not tended to. Last year the beach restaurants had outstanding quality and quantity of diverse foodstuff. This year, poor variety and limited quantities. However, the central restaurants maintained their excellence (go figure!). Spring beak kids were noisy in their rooms. Our calls to Security for quiet went unanswered for two nights and we were ultimately forced to move to a different room. The waitstaff appears to have been significantly reduced. Where last year we were serviced immediately for everything from towels to drinks, this year we waited and waited and waited.

We will look for a different spot next year.

we got married may 3, 2003 on the beach at the barcelo maya and absolutely loved it. it was a dream come true. cesar is a wonderful wedding coordinator and is very organized. just make sure you tell him specific details about certain things you want. we had 41 people attend and everyone had a blast. i have lots of tips for you if you want to email me. i gave cesar pictures of how i wanted my bouquet and the bridesmaid's bouquets. and also a picture of a simple cake with flowers. having the pictures really helped us get what we wanted beyond the options cesar will have for you. i will tell you the flowers and the cake did not turn out exactly like the pictures, but close. you have to be willing to let some things go, because of where you've decided to get married. but, overall everything was wonderful!! the wedding photographer is ok. we were actually pretty pleased with our pictures, but they certainly aren't the quality we would've had if we had been married in the states. i could go on and on.... good luck and i'm sure you'll love the barcelo!

How did you get a hold of Cesar. I am getting married there and I have tried on 8 different occasions and I cannot get a hold of anyone. I am getting a little nervous and frustrated. Any suggestions would be great!

cesar and i only communicated via email. he almost always returned my emails within 24-48 hours. although, i did try to get ahold of him after our wedding (may 3) and he was very slow to get back to me. i'd just keep emailing him with your questions.

What is Cesar's email address? I have emailed the resort several times requesting his email address, but I cannot get a hold of anyone.

i don't think cesar works there anymore. they have a new coordinator. i don't know her email address.

I'm going to the Barcelo Maya for my honeymoon and I would love to know which section I should request to stay in. Any advice for us before going??
