We are travelling to the resort in May 2003 & would like to hear any tips from anyone who has been around the same time of year. We've heard the pools & the ocean are really cold - is that just in the winter months ? We would also like some advice or a map showing which rooms are better/nearer the beach so we email ahead to request it.

The ocean is definitely not cold and neither is the pool! I just got home yesterday from bahia principe akumal and it was my second time being there.

Shelby, could you tell me which rooms might be closer to the beach, we're not going until Jan, want to be prepared.

We too are going to the resort in May. I heard that the closest rooms to the beach are #65, 66 and 67 (right on the beach). The beach there is very rocky and you will be able to hear the waves crashing ont he rocks from your room. The calm part of the beach is on the Tulum side. I have a map if you would like me to send it to you. Right now I am looking into airport transfer to the hotel. So far I have found it to be around $70 roundtrip. Does anyone know how I go about getting it cheaper?

Does anyone know the best way to go for airport hotel transfer? I have checked around and it seems as if it around $70.00 per person roundtrip. I would like to find something a little less expensive and would be glad to share a ride with any other couples going to Bahia Principe Akumal from 5/12 - 5/19/04. Thanks

We will be going to the Tulum resort in April, 2004. I'v heard everyone say that the transportation from the airport to the hotel is horrendous. Does anyone know how much it would cost for cab fare? I would rather give up our transportation that we've already paid for and spend the extra money on a cab than sit on a bus for 2 1/2 hours! I also would love a map of the rooms so we can find one closest to the pool/beach area.

My boyfriend and I will be staying at the resort in a couple of weeks. We chose to stay in the junior suite. Can anyone tell us what the junior suite is all about? Does it really have a jacuzzi, or is it one of those bathtubs with jets? Do all the junior suites have ocean views? ANy other good info??
