Any beer other than Red Stripe?

Postby Lisa on Thu May 13, 2004 3:36 pm

My Fiancee and I are planning a trip to CSA for our honeymoon, and just wondered if ANYONE can tell us whether they offer anything other than Red Stripe beer? We don't expect to change our plans over something so small, but were just wondering if we should plan ahead so as to not be disappointed. If anyone knows and sees this, a response would be greatly appreciated!!!

The couples in Ochos Rios served Miller. I'm sure they do too.

I'm with you Lisa. I've been to Jamaica a few times and I can't stand Red Stripe. We are leaving for Sandals white house July 9th has anyone heard if Sandals serves any other beer? Thanks in advance, Jeff

I went there so many years ago and what was funny was the guys selling the beer on the beach yelling, "Red Stripe Beer, 20 degrees below" or "Red Stripe Beer, 40 degrees below". I guess they had no conception of "degrees" and what they meant.

One annoying thing at that time which was 17 years ago are people selling you crap on the beach. One woman was nice who showed up with fresh squeezed orange juice in a wine bottle every day. I had to be nuts to buy it, but I did and it was good. At that time, all the residents came up to you to offer to braid your hair like in the movie "10" for a price or give you a message.

I stayed in Negril. There was a bit of seaweed to wade through in the front of the hotel before you were in clear water.

You should be able to get Heineken (my personal fave) there...
I know for a fact that the SEASTAR INN (www.seastarinn.com) has Heineken, Miller Light, and Guinness...

Was just there in December and they have other types of beer... you might want to try the blended drinks too!! They're all pretty tasty!
