Adventura Beach? Nightlife?

Postby LeeSa on Mon Jul 14, 2003 4:24 pm

I am looking at booking Adventura for a group trip next spring (all early 30's). I have heard that the Beach area is non-existent. Is this true? Can you take walks along the coast there? Is it a hassle to go to Xpu-ha for the beach? Also, is there any nightlife at Adventura? What is the typical crowd like?

THE HOTEL ITSELF HAS NO BEACH. A COUPLE OF MANMADE LAGOONS FOR SNORKELING, ETC. SOME GREAT POOLS! BEACHES AREN'T TO HARD TO GET TO (A CAB OR BUS OR CAR). THERE IS A NICE LETTLE TOWN (TOURIST SHOPS, RESTAURANTS - NICE)
YOU CAN WALK TO FROM THE HOTEL.

THERE IS A "DISCO" AT NIGHT(??) AND THERE ARE STAGED SHOWS OTHER NIGHTS. HAVE TO GO INTO PLAYACAR OR CANCUN FOR "NIGHTLIFE"

LOTS OF NEWLYWEDS AND COUPLES CELEBRATING ANNIVERSERIES. ALSO GROUPS OF FRIENDS (COUPLES). DID NOT SEE TOO MANY SINGLES. AGE SEEMED TO BE MID TWENTIES TO MID FORTIES AND THEN A GOOD SEGMENT OVER FORTY.

GREAT PLACE TO RELAX AND BE IN LOVE

I am a travel agent and just did a site inspection of the Adventura/Spa Palace Resort. If you like a lot of marble and small rooms you'll love this place. Was no beach, no beautiful foliage, just spa stuff and timeshare hustlers. I wouldn't send anyone here except for the spa experience. The Xpu-Ha Palace Resort I inspected also, and it was unique; like a park ranger would like it (small beach). I stayed at the Barcelo Maya next north of the Xpu-Ha and it had a mile long beach with large pools interconnecting (far better than the Adventura). Food was only fair though, the best hotels are the Iberostars, either the Paraiso del Mar/Paraiso Beach, Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal (closer to Playa del Carmen/can walk to town and Playacar village. Please don't choose the Moon Palace, it's too large (2,000 rooms) and has a beach full of seaweed. For adults only, the Royal Hideway is the best of all, and the Riu Palace is for older people (more quiet).
