Xcalak - Remarkable Villas of Elegance on Mexico's Costa Maya
Sharing the same aquamarine Caribbean waters as Belize and 20 miles North of Ambegris Caye, we're located on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula - her Costa Maya three hours south of Tulum. Here, we've created an idyllic and extraordinary vacation place - a small resort of mesmerizing ambiance to which our guests return each year!

Wrapped in brilliant tropical colors, we have space for 16-18 in delightful apartments, bedroom suites, and a jungle studio. Energized by solar, we gather water in an intricate system and though living in primitive Mexico, and still relatively undiscovered, we're known for our frugal elegance. No Smoking though tolerated with polite restrictions.
Each beachside dwelling is filled with hand-carved furniture, manipulated and original art, pure cotton linens on comfy beds, sun-fresh towels, daily housekeeping, with balconies hanging above the sea or private patio. You may cook and dine under Mayan-carved log beams and vaulted ceilings in the stunning communal kitchen, read from our extensive library, lounge in hand-woven wicker chairs.
Each day is presented laden with natural gifts of unbelievable swimming and snorkeling in astonishingly clear waters protected by the Belize Reef and designated a Marine Park. Flyfish the flats of Chetumal Bay for Permit, Tarpon and Bonefish; within two hours drive, place yourself at the foot of Pyramids of Kings at Kohunlich, Kinichna in the Land of the Maya, or spend an island day in Belize. At eventide, climb to one of our soaring rooftop decks to find wondrous views of the constellations through our 9" telescope.
