More Info:
An intimate small resort on Middle Caicos Island in the Turks and Caicos Islands, British West Indies. Middle Caicos is the largest of the islands in this group but the least populated. Only 1½ hours from Miami, Florida, and south of the Bahamas. There are Regular scheduled daily flights out of Miami and Atlanta and charters from Canada, New York City, Boston, and Detroit. For charters, check your travel agent. There is a 12-minute flight from Providenciales (arrival point for all flights) to Middle Caicos Island. We can make arrangements for this flight. The charge is $45 per person each way. The language spoken is English and the currency is the American dollar.

Blue Horizon Resort has been developed on 50 acres of private land with over 2200 ft. of beachfront. The white sand beach with its connecting isthmus to Dragon Cay is a great swimming area. A cathedral like cave directly on the beach provides shelter from the sun. Swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear water is possible year around. Trade winds keep the average temperature between 80 and 87 degrees F. The fresh clear air adds to the healthy tranquil atmosphere.

There are five studio villas with complete kitchens and two larger villas. There is a nearby restaurant in the village of Conch Bar and dinners can also be catered to your villa. All groceries can be in place if you send a faxed list of food you wish in advance. Local purchases are limited to fresh fish, lobster in season and basic staples such as eggs, potatoes etc. The beach is about one minute walk away and there are screened porches with spectacular views of the sea and the island. There are bikes and cars to rent by the day or week.

WHAT TO DO ON MIDDLE CAICOS ISLAND ... swimming, snorkeling, walking, bird watching, exploring, hidden beach picnics, fishing (over 35 kinds of game fish available with boats and guides available), nature trail, caves and shopping for local crafts. Adventure tours can be arranged with a boat to see the frigate birds, iguanas, other islands (such as East Caicos), plantation sites, game field and ruins of the ancient Lucayan Indians sites. Or- just relax and do NOTHING!

Bottled Water
In a restaurant, ask for a bottle of water unopened. Have them open it at the table, and you can be sure you won't get local water, bottled. This will also tell you that they use bottled water to cook and clean with.
