Site Information:
Hikaru Villa at Treasure Beach, Jamaica

Treasure Beach is a series of fishing villages that welcome visitors - not, as so much of Jamaica has become, tourist destinations that tolerate fisherman. This is the real Jamaica! Set in this unspoiled fishing village on Jamaica's South Coast, our staffed four-bedroom beachfront villa Hikaru is on a sandy knoll with a broad prospect of the Caribbean Sea fifty yards from our doorstep.

Cozumel's Beaches & Snorkeling Cozumel's Beaches & Snorkeling - Cozumel Mexico
Cozumel's beaches vary from scalloped bays and inlets to wide wind-swept swathes of powdery sand. The calm waters of the western side of the island are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing, and sunbathing. The desolate, eastern shore is lashed by waves and steady winds, although there are some lovely escarpments and bays safe for swimming.

How to Make Authentic Mexican Cerviche How to Make Authentic Mexican Cerviche - Playa del Carmen
First let me explain why I call it authentic Mexican cerviche. I lived in the Yucatan Peninsula over 20 years ago at the beginning of the birth of Cancun. I worked on boats every day and learned to make Mexican food dishes from the natives I worked with.

Caribbean Travel Tip

Driving in the Caribbean
If you plan to rent a car, be aware that most jurisdictions of the Caribbean drive on the left. The only places where you drive on the right are Aruba, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, and the Netherlands Antilles. In other places, if you are not used to driving on the left, proceed slowly and with utmost caution. You may wish to ride as a passenger for a while before trying to drive yourself. Driving conditions and local driving patterns are different from the U.S. Many roads are narrow or winding, signs may not be in English, and in some places, domestic animals roam freely. Defensive driving is a must.
