Longer staying guests are rewarded by a $5 per night discount for stays 3 nights or longer, and room rates only go up by $10 per additional guest (per room). We also offer many freebies. The following facilities are provided free of charge for our guests use: beach and garden lounges, tables and chairs for outdoor dining, hammocks, a barbecue pit, a thatched beach Cabana and fresh tropical flowers in the rooms. Also, the friendly managers will provide all the help and information needed.
Laughing Bird Apartments is situated on the beach in Governors Harbour, across from Laughing Bird Cay. Laughing Bird's apartments all face the sea and a sand shelling beach. The apartments are located in their own acre of beautiful tropical gardens in an atmosphere of quiet serenity. In our vacation property, each cottage consists of 2 studio apartments. Each apartment includes a living/dining/sleeping room with separate kitchen and bathroom. One of the apartments has access to an additional bedroom. This permits a combination of rentals, from 1 to 6 guests, all under one roof.
Our handsomely furnished apartments are fully air-conditioned and are equipped with a kitchenette, linen and crockery. All utilities are included in the rental rates, and maid service, cable TV, a microwave and an extra bedroom are offered at a small additional charge. Bedrooms are supplied with a king size bed or two twin beds.
The town of Governor's Harbour is centrally located on the 100 mile long island of Eleuthera. It was settled in the 17th century by the Company of Eleutheran Adventurers who came to the Bahamas from England to found the first democratic government in the Western hemisphere. The town today is picturesque, perfectly nestled in a natural harbour on the Caribbean coastline of the Island. Less than half a mile across the island is the Atlantic coastline, crested with long stretches of shallow coral reefs and world famous powdery pink sand beaches.
The air-conditioned gift shop is the place to escape the heat and browse thru Bahamian gifts and clothing. It also contains a small library for your reading pleasure. Within a 10 minute walk of the apartments are: supermarkets, clothing and gift shops, automobile and bicycle rentals, banks, post office, medical clinic, dentist, churches, restaurants, nightclubs and bars and liquor stores.
Governor's Harbour International Airport is 7 miles from the town and is served from Nassau and South Florida by the National Carrier, BahamasAir, and several other airlines, including USAirways and American Airways. Please consult your travel agent or their respective web sites for further info.

They are small and light and easy to carry anywhere you go as a rain cloud can come in no time and dump a monsoon on your head.
