Eleuthera/Governor's Harbour, Balara Bay - Stone Beach House
The Hummingbird is a stone beach house on beautiful Balara Bay. No hills or steps to the sea. No walk to the beach. Beyond the 20 by 40 foot terrace is the clear, tourquoise blue water of the Caribbean Sea. All rooms have seaviews. The home is 800 feet down a private drive to a quiet, secluded, breathtaking setting. Picturesque Governor's Harbour, a five minute drive, has restaurants, grocery stores, bakery, library, beverage stores, boutiques, service stations, banks and post office.

More Info: The HUMMINGBIRD has charm and character. The home's exterior is Savannah stone with l000 sqare feet of terraces and covered porch for outdoor living. The interior's l000 square feet area is informal and inviting with rattan, comfortable upholstered furniture, antiques, and original works of local artists.
The master bedroom wing has queen bed, private bath,, AC/ceiling fan. The guest bedroom has twin beds, private bath, AC/ceiling fan. Both bedrooms have beach entrances. The kitchen area includes a breakfast bar and a breakfast room. Three sets of sliding glass doors and cathedral ceilings give the small home an open, airy atmosphere.
The Hummingbird's central location provides convenient sightseeing and travel to the northern and southern tips of our 110 mile long, 2 mile wide island. If possible, fly into Governor's Harbour ten minutes away. North Eleuthera Airport is one hour north. Taxi service at all airports. Car rental is available. Eleuthera has easy access with direct flights daily from Fort Lauderdale and Miami (50 minutes) and Nassau (20 minutes).

Caribbean Travel Tip Jungle & Rainforest Treking If you plan to walk into the jungle make sure you know what you are doing. Carry a GPS and know how to use it. A compass will help the experienced explorer but if you just bought it and expect to enter the jungle and knock about then you may find yourself in deep trouble.
If you have to venture into the bush then please follow these instructions:
- Tell somebody where you are going.
- Bring lots of water.
- Make sure your compass works.
- Mark your trail.
- Be visually aware and remember landmarks.
- Check to see where the sun is when you enter the bush then check your watch to see what time it is, make regular checks to orient yourself to the movement of the sun.
