Casa Encantada
Encantada, "Enchantment," is a fabulous, just completed, four bedroom, four bath, beachfront, luxury villa in the exclusively residential area of Jade Beach, 60 miles south of Cancun. This location offers seclusion with no neighboring homes, yet is still only a short walk down the white sand beach to the restaurants, dive facilities, shops, health club, and kids club of charming Akumal.

Arranged on three levels amid a lush tropical landscape, the villa sits directly on its own palm fringed Caribbean beach. This architect-designed home, owned by a renowned painter and sculptor, is a sculpture in itself, expressing the dynamic interplay between curved and planar forms. The focus of the villa is a four level circular tower, penetrated through its center by a shaft of light.
Upon arrival, stroll through a tropical paradise of palms and flowers. Open a romantic hand forged iron entrance gate. Enter a dramatic space of gleaming marble floors which flow throughout the house. A circular dining room, steps down into an elegant sunken living room with 11 foot ceilings. Floor to ceiling glass doors look out to palms and the turquoise sea beyond. Furnishings are of exquisite hand carved woods from Indonesia, China, Mexico, and Africa as well being complemented by sumptuous fabrics.
The fully-equipped kitchen opens out to a terrace. It features marble counters, custom cabinetry with handcast pewter hardware, and has both indoor and outdoor bars. The bedroom on this level has glass doors to its own terrace and a full bath with a curving sculptural marble shower, all opening to the beach views.
The upper level also has gleaming marble floors throughout. The luxurious master bedroom suite has a large private terrace and breathtaking views of the sea and the garden. The spacious master bath includes expansive marble counters with double sinks, and a five foot, round shower with glass doors opening to the ocean view and breeze. The second bedroom on this level also opens to its own terrace through glass doors and offers a spectacular ocean view. Its adjoining private marble bathroom also has views from its matching five foot round shower. A circular library connects these two bedrooms to the roof terrace above. It features a curving cantilevered marble desk, glass top table.
The lower level contains the fourth bedroom, with full bath, a playroom with TV and VCR, as well as a laundry. The bedroom has two twin beds which can be combined to make a king. Although there are no sea views from this level, this is the perfect place for teenagers and children to have their own space. The house is topped off by a circular rooftop terrace with a spectacular 360 degree view of the jungle and ocean. A great place for entertaining or watching sunsets under the graceful palapa roof.
The artistic attention to detail expressed throughout this villa is truly unique and must be seen and experienced to be appreciated! The oceanfront pool will be completed by May of 2001.
