More Info:
Kasa Katalina is for the adventurous... the adventurous who want to make a minimum impact on a fragile environment... the adventurous who are willing to give up television, telephones, running water, and electricity... the adventurous who want to experience swimming or snorkeling in the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean or candlelight dinners on the large covered patio... the adventurous who want to experience the moonlight reflecting on the white sand.

Kasa Katalina has a flush toilet and bathing area inside. Water may be brought from the well a few steps away from the house and either warmed in the sun or on the gas stove. Bottled water and ice may be purchased in town or a truck comes by a few times a week. There is a large crystal clear cenote within walking distance and a second story deck accessed from outside to string up hammocks, watch sunrises or pelicans diving offshore.

Kasa Katalina is a totally enclosed secured building. It sleeps four in two full-size beds in the large living/sleeping room. There is a large separate kitchen with gas stove, two ice chests and it is well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils and linens.

Spend your afternoons in the shade of the oversized patio, swinging in a hammock, or walking along miles of white sand beaches. Better yet, prop yourself up with Michener's CARIBBEAN in the handcrafted bed, made by a local Mayan using only a machete, an ax and a hammer.

Much of the native plants have been kept on the grounds providing a haven to colorful orioles, a variety of butterflies and iguanas.

Two large hotels, a dive shop, and the restaurant "Casa Cenote" are within walking distance providing the opportunity to purchase meals and drinks, use telephones, call taxis or rent cars if guests need a break from paradise.

Cozumel's Beaches & Snorkeling Cozumel's Beaches & Snorkeling - Cozumel Mexico
Cozumel's beaches vary from scalloped bays and inlets to wide wind-swept swathes of powdery sand. The calm waters of the western side of the island are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing, and sunbathing. The desolate, eastern shore is lashed by waves and steady winds, although there are some lovely escarpments and bays safe for swimming.

About St John, U.S. Virgin Islands About St John, U.S. Virgin Islands - St. John
Of all the islands, St John is probably the most unspoiled, thanks to the contribution of one of the world's best known philanthropists, Laurence Rockefeller. Had it not been for Rockefeller's gift of money and his desire to preserve beautiful St John, the landscape would probably look more commercial, much like the other Virgin Islands.

What's New at Tobago's Coco Reef Resort and Spa What's New at Tobago's Coco Reef Resort and Spa - Trinidad and Tobago
For the past four days, we'd been experiencing Trinidad's Carnival, a pulsating heartbeat of humanity that winds through the streets of Port of Spain. We'd chipped, we'd shuffled, we had lost ourselves in the pounding rhythm of the Caribbean's largest annual celebration that for many serves as an annual rebirth.

Close your eyes and imagine a Caribbean vacation. Done? The images you called to mind probably contained pristine white beaches, aquamarine waters, and plenty of palm trees. Fortunately, the Caribbean is full of enough beautiful beaches to satisfy every traveler, but there's much more to the islands than just beaches.
