It is located just steps from a sparkling white sand beach with a one hundred and eighty degree view of shimmering blue, green waters, offshore islands and breathtaking sunsets. In winter the best surf break in the Caribbean is 100 yards down the beach..
Just down the road from Chateau Relaxeau Caribe is the picturesque village with grocery stalls, two fine local restaurants and the weekly Friday night fish fry under the Banyan Tree.
Apple Bay is also home to the "Sugar Mill" which houses a beach bar and restaurant and a gourmet restaurant open for dinner within the ruins of an old sugar mill. And the food has to be good ..the place is owned by two writers for " BON APPETIT" magazine!
Down the beach is one of the most famous bars in the Caribbean, "Bomba’s Surfside Shack", with Bomba’s OUTRAGEOUS "Full Moon" parties every month; Equally outrageous, Bomba Punch available anytime, and BBQ’s every Wednesday and Sunday.
A Caribbean Paradise in the British Virgin Islands...the island of Tortola is within easy reach of the US mainland via either San Juan, Puerto Rico or St. Thomas. American Eagle and other carriers connect from San Juan to Tortola. Ferries run regularly from St. Thomas to Tortola’s West End. Jungle & Rainforest Treking
If you plan to walk into the jungle make sure you know what you are doing. Carry a GPS and know how to use it. A compass will help the experienced explorer but if you just bought it and expect to enter the jungle and knock about then you may find yourself in deep trouble.
If you have to venture into the bush then please follow these instructions:
- Tell somebody where you are going.
- Bring lots of water.
- Make sure your compass works.
- Mark your trail.
- Be visually aware and remember landmarks.
- Check to see where the sun is when you enter the bush then check your watch to see what time it is, make regular checks to orient yourself to the movement of the sun.
