More Info:
If you're looking for a quaint hideaway cottage in tropics only moments away from civilization, you'll love Trade Winds Cottages. We have recently completed a brand new two bedroom cottage to go along with our beautiful one bedroom. We designed our cottages to be the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

Trade Winds Cottages are located on the Bahamian island Lubbers Quarters Cay (Key). Lubber's offers plenty of beaches and privacy yet, this lovely cay is conveniently located in the protected Abaco Sound, just a short boat ride from the town of Marsh Harbour on one side, and Hope Town on Elbow Cay on the other.

Each of these larger islands provides a touch of the Bahamian nightlife, lots of restaurants to choose from, as well as specialty shops to peruse. If you would rather take a leisurely walk around the island instead, Lubber's offers lots of paths, beaches, and a unique bar/restaurant of its own, "Cracker P's".

Whether your looking for a quick vacation from the states, an opportunity to do some fishing or snorkeling around our reefs, or maybe you just need an excuse to relax without the answering machines, fax machines, and emails dictating your every move, Trade Winds Cottages has exactly what your looking for.

Nearby Attractions:
Lubbers central location makes exploring the nearby islands of Hope Town, Man O'War and Marsh Harbour a breeze. A short 10-15 minute boat ride in any direction quickly lands you on shore at one of these beautiful Caribbean hideaways. Each island provides it's own unique charm and atmosphere. So, whether your looking for a local watering hole, a taste of Bahamian cuisine or some place to do a little shopping, each of these islands offers lots of choices to satisfy anyone's needs.

Getting Back To Nature
If getting back to nature is a priority in your life, the Abaco area is world renowned for its surfing, snorkeling, fishing, and scuba diving. Abaco provides two (2) protected underwater sea parks for your exploration in Sandy Cay and Fowl Cay. Each of the parks offer gorgeous brilliantly covered underwater landscapes and an absolute must see if you venture into our part of the world.

Fishing
Directly across from our location lies Tilloo cut. This cut provides the primary gateway to the Atlantic Ocean and some great off-shore fishing.

The area is home to several high stakes fishing tournaments every year, so you know the area must be full of fish. Some of the fish you find in our local waters are Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin, Billfish, and Grouper, not to mention the Bone fishing, Lobsters, and Conchs, so whether you're a professional fisherman or just looking for a little food and recreation, we have it all.

Beaches
And what would the Bahamas be without a little relaxation. The Bahamas are exactly what the Dr. orders to relieve that stress tightening those neck muscles and making your body look and feel much older than your real age. Come relax on some of the most majestic beaches ever created. Liven up your romance by walking hand-in-hand along miles of white sand and liquid sunshine. Stop and just take a look at the beauty around you, pick -up some sea shells and daydream about never going back to that 9-5 job. Come experience the Bahamas and let us be your guide.

Caribbean Travel Tip

Entry and Exit Requirements
Entering: Every island in the Caribbean has its own entry requirements. Most countries allow you to visit for up to two or three months if you show proof of U.S. citizenship and a return or onward ticket. Some countries, however, require that you have a valid passport. If you are arriving from an area infected with yellow fever, many Caribbean countries require you to have a certificate of vaccination against yellow fever. Some countries have an airport departure tax of up to $25. For authoritative information on a country's entry and exit requirements and on its customs and currency regulations, contact its embassy, consulate, or tourist office in the United States. Returning - Caution! Make certain that you can return to the United States with the proof of citizenship that you take with you. Although some Caribbean countries may allow you to enter with only a birth certificate, U.S. Immigration requires that you document both your U.S. citizenship and identity when you reenter the United States. The best document to prove your U.S. citizenship is a valid U.S. passport. Other documents of U.S. citizenship include an expired U.S. passport, a certified copy of your birth certificate, a Certificate of Naturalization , a Certificate of Citizenship , or a Report of Birth Abroad of a U.S. Citizen. To prove your identity, either a valid driver's license or a government identification card that includes a photo or a physical description is acceptable. If you lose or have your U.S. passport stolen while overseas, report it immediately to the local police and the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. A lost or stolen birth certificate or driver's license cannot be replaced outside the United States. There are several countries, most notably Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, and Jamaica, where airlines have consistently refused to board American citizens with insufficient proof of U.S. citizenship. The resulting delays can be inconvenient as well as expensive.
