Villa La Guacamaya
In Xcalak, Mexico a small Mexico fishing village along the Yucatan Coast - Villa La Guacamaya offers 2 beachfront units, each with private bathrooms, including a shared kitchen and dining room. Come create your adventure along the Yucatan coast.

Bedrooms have a double bed, pullout single bed and hammock. The Laguna Apartment is a separate 2nd floor apartment with a view of the beach and the lagoon which has a double bed, bathroom with shower, and kitchen.We now have a 1st floor bedroom with bathroom below the Laguna apartment.
All of the rooms have overhead ceiling fans, hot water and purified water dispensers. We provide fresh linens, bath towels and various sundries for your comfort. Both kitchens have a refrigerator, gas stove, cooking utensils, pots & pans, and dishes. All windows and sliding doors have screens so you can enjoy the pleasant tropical breeze. Maid service is provided daily.

FISHING - The Xcalak area offers, when in season, Sailfish, Marlin, Dorado, Wahoo, Tuna, Grouper, Snapper, Baracuda, Bonefish, Tarpon, and Snook. Local guides are available for fishing inside and outside of the reef, as well as in the flats of Chetumal Bay. SNORKELING - You can snorkel right out in front of the villa or you can go on a guided tour with local guides in a boat. We encourage bringing gear for the children since we have a limited size selection.* * Snorkel gear, kayaks and bikes are available for use by our guests..
DIVING - Boat service to Villa La Guacamaya is provided by local dive shops for divers diving locally or to Chinchorro Banks as well as for snorkelers, fishing trips, Bird Island Trips and trips to San Pedro.
BIRD AND WILDLIFE TOURS - if you get up early in the morning you will see a lot right out the front door of the villa or you can take a very scenic tour to Bird Island by boat. We also offer some inland wildlife tours for the intrepid with English speaking guides. Toursof the Sian Ka'an Biosphere available out of Tulum and Muyil
KAYAKING - we have a few complementary kayaks for our guests to use locally. Explore the Rio Huach and the vast network of local lagoons and well as the barrier reef.
INLAND JUNGLE TOURS - Experience a variety of natural settings as you are led by experienced guides, on foot and in canoes, through savannah, lake, bush and jungle. Tours leave out of Pedro A. Santos on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Tours start from 8 AM to 12 PM and can last 3-5 hours.
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS - San Pedro, Belize - Laguna Bacalaar, The Blue Cenote, Chetumal and the Mayan ruins. Each area has spectacular sites, shops, museums, colorful markets and fabulous restaurants.

Ocean Undercurrents
If you get sucked out into the ocean by an undercurrent follow these instructions:
Do not panic, save all your strength.
Act immediately. Swim parallel to the shoreline. Even if you cannot, keep trying until you can.
What you are doing is swimming out of the undertow and into the current that will more than likely push you back to shore. Remember, in saltwater you float so you can stay alive for any number of days. Unless you are on a secluded beach a boat will reach you in time to rescue you should you fail to not be able to swim out of the undertow.
