Garden by the Sea Bed & Breakfast offers a unique and tranquil environment where you can escape and relax on the beautiful island of St. John - a gem of the Caribbean. Nestled between the glistening waters of Frank and Turner Bays, just one bay south of Cruz Bay, gives you an ideal location with easy access to the north shore beaches and town. Each of our three rooms overlook the turquoise waters of Frank Bay beach from our shady grove of local Ganip trees, tropical bananas and coconut palms.
Each room features hardwood floors, elephant bamboo canopy beds, Japanese fountains and ceiling fans to soothe you. Exotic furnishings and artifacts from around the world have been selected to make each room a uniquely relaxing environment that welcomes and comforts you during your stay.
Built in the 1970's, the secluded and spacious guest house is architecturally designed in Caribbean gingerbread style with expansive windows, handcrafted mahoghany doors and cathedral beamed ceilings with guest rooms privately located on either sides of the common room.
From our shady gardens, a one minute path along the Audubon Pond leads you to Frank Bay beach - a great secluded swimming and snorkeling beach and a fabulous place to enjoy one of our spectacular sunsets to the sounds of the dappling waves. Town is an easy 7 minute walk along the shoreline road.
Nearby Attractions:
Beaches are an easy walk from Garden by the Sea Bed & Breakfast, and nearby Frank and Turner Bays are a wonderful spot for a swim, snorkel, or soaking up sunrays. Cruz Bay, with it's varied shops, restaurants and bars, is a ten minute walk along the shoreline. The beautiful and pristine National Park beaches, which have made St. John famous throughout the Caribbean, can be explored at your own pace with a rental jeep.
Amenities:
Garden by the Sea boasts a comfortable and airy Common Room for casual conversation. Beautiful views surround the common room from all directions. This is the perfect spot to mingle with other guests, read from our local interests library, or simply lounge about with a cool and soothing drink.
Breakfast is offered in the morning on our verandah, with a healthy variety of fresh fruits, homemade breads, muffins and quiche. A selection of local teas, coffees and juices will nourish you. In the evenings this is a perfect spot to enjoy a bottle of wine and take in the tradewind breezes and sailboats passing by in the sunset between St. Thomas and Little St. James Island.
