Petit St.Vincent Resort
Petit St.Vincent, a privately-owned island resort in the Caribbean, offers total privacy and 22 luxurious secluded cottages.
|
More Info: Remote and secluded as they may be, these cottages are beautifully appointed. PSV is also a proud member of the "Leading Hotels of the World". Each cottage is built from native blue bitch stone which is quarried on the island. There are terra cotta floors and peaked ceilings of Purpleheart hardwood. Everything blends beautifully with the island’s terrain.
Each of the cottages features a wooden sundeck, a living room, a bedroom, and one or two bathrooms and dressing rooms. The bathrooms have a shower, lots of counter space, robes, fluffy towels and a medley of Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. The two daybeds in each living room can be made up to accommodate children.
The cottages are sited to make the most of their immediate surroundings. Some are notched into the hills and bluffs to catch the breeze and savor the views, most are just steps from the beach. All the buildings are naturally air-conditioned with a combination of ceiling fans, louvered windows, cool terra cotta floors and the ocean breeze.
In place of a telephone, in front of each cottage there is a small bamboo flagpole with a message box. Hoist the yellow flag and a member of the staff (numbering two for every guest) will come in his mini moke and pick up your message. Room service, lunch on the beach, whatever you want. Hoist the red flag, and you absolutely will not be disturbed.
The Grenadines are a group of islands sprinkled across what may be the most beautiful stretch of water in the Caribbean. Part of the Windward Island chain, the Grenadines drift southwesterly from St. Vincent, the largest of more than 30 islands that make up the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Petit St.Vincent (better known locally as PSV) which lies 40 miles south of St.Vincent, is a paradise of softly rolling hills spread over 113 acres surrounded by two miles of white sand beaches, PSV has been tamed just enough to allow for the presence of 22 discreet and simple, yet luxurious cottages.
Nearby Attractions: Petit St. Vincent resort has many activities on and around the island for you to enjoy all at no additional charge.
Sailing and Kayaking We have steady breezes that are perfect for sailing here at PSV. At the dockhouse we have Hobie Cats, Sunfish, windsurfers, and glass bottom kayaks.
Snorkeling If you want to snorkel off our sandy shores, snorkeling equipment is available at the dock (exceptional opportunities are only a few yards from the beach).
Petit St. Richardson Petit St. Richardson is a small sand spit island not far from PSV, great for snorkeling and swimming. A picnic lunch for two can be arranged there for the ultimate getaway.
Tennis There is a lovely lighted tennis court surrounded by fragrant flowers and bushes, where guests play during the cooler hours of the day.
Hiking A hike to the summit is not to be missed. The path winds through untouched tropical jungle and past banyan and rubber trees with local orchids nestling on the branches. At the top, the views of the surrounding islands and ocean are magnificent; there is a sense of utter tranquility.
If you would like to go off the island, we have day charters and scuba diving that are not included in the price.
Day Charters Both sailboats Sudiki and Jambalaya and a speedboat Jahash are available to take you to the Tobago Cays or neighboring islands. Personal itineraries can be made for a fun filled day of snorkeling, fishing, or just exploring.
Scuba Diving We can arrange for scuba diving instruction and equipment rentals from Grenadines Dive, owned and managed by Glenroy Adams from Union Island. Learn more about scuba diving at Petit St. Vincent Resort.
Massage and Facial Care Genevieve is a licensed French masseuse in the area who will come to PSV when requested.
Amenities: Lying well off the tourist mainstream, PSV could be best described by what is not there. There is no airport, no formal check in, no keys. There are no televisions nor are there telephones in the cottages. Above all however, there is privacy. Here, amid untouched nature and surrounded by warm, crystal-clear, turquoise water, one senses that the island is one’s own.
The truly hermitic guest need never meet another visitor. Room service is available for all meals, either in your own cottage or at any other location on the island. Most guests however, choose to make use of the resort’s beautiful bar and dining room for at least some of their meals.
