More Info: Welcome to Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies. Discover the undiscovered Caribbean: Nevis, sister island to St. Kitts in the tradewind-kissed Leeward Islands. Bask in near-perfect weather, steps from the silken sand. Enjoy guava wraps or Shiatsu in the spacious luxury of the new resort spa. Or play the Caribbean's finest golf course, with ocean views.
Discover the undiscovered Caribbean – a quiet island basking in near-perfect weather and the warm, clear, inviting sea. Luxuriously spacious guest rooms, steps from the silken sand. Sunset dining within the sound of the surf. Mountainside views from the finest golf course in the Islands. Tennis by the water’s edge. Massages and spa treatments inspired by the rhythms of the Islands. Award-winning Four Seasons service.
The name "Nevis" was derived from the Spanish word "nieve," which means snow. This name was given to the island by Christopher Columbus when he discovered it in 1492, due to the clouds on top of the mountain that he could see as he approached it.
This unspoiled island offers visitors the opportunity to experience the Caribbean as it should be. The climate is consistently pleasant and there are no monolithic hotel complexes, congested beaches or frantic commercial centres. In fact, the government does not allow buildings to be taller than two storeys so that they will not be higher than the canopy cover of the palm trees.
Nearby Attractions: Ocean Pool
Right beside the Caribbean Sea, the Ocean Pool is one of our two free-form, infinity-edge pools. It boasts a swimming lane 25 metres (83 feet) in length. Complimentary pool services include cold, scented towels, ice water and refreshing water mistings. The Ocean Pool is suitable for children and family fun.
Tennis
Managed by world-renowned Peter Burwash International, the Resort's tennis facilities include six Plexicushion courts (one lit) and four all-weather surface red clay courts (two lit) for night play. Professional instruction, equipment and tennis apparel are available from the pro shop.
Golf
Robert Trent Jones II The course provides a dramatic view of the Resort, the Caribbean and the neighbouring island of St. Kitts. Enjoy one or both of our two complimentary weekly clinics. A golfer's conditioning programme is also available for an applicable fee. Guests are invited to take part in the 9-hole guest/manager scramble each week (fee applies).
Eva Wilkin Studio Housed in an old sugar mill, this gallery features the work of several well-known artists – including the late Eva Wilkin – as well as prints, antique maps and gift items.
Spencer Cameron Gallery The Spencer Cameron Gallery was established 20 years ago and houses an impressive collection of works by Caribbean artists, as well as historical reproductions of Caribbean island charts and prints. Owner Rosie Cameron's popular Carnival clown prints are also on display.
The Gallery of Nevis Art This is a quaint West Indian house/gallery owned by Marie Clark, an American artist who has been living in Nevis for the past 12 years. The Gallery of Nevis Art exhibits the artwork and batiks of local artists.
Botanical Garden The Botanical Garden of Nevis is a world-class garden with incredible displays and collections of palms, orchids, cacti, flowering trees and shrubs. A gift shop and West Indian Tea House make this a wonderful place to spend an afternoon enjoying the plants, incredible views, dining and shopping. Situated at Cole Hill, Montpelier Estate in St. John's Parish.
Brimstone Hill Fortress When you visit Brimstone Hill, you will start at the Visitor's Center for a presentation of this magnificent fortress, stepping back in time and learning what it was like for the early inhabitants of St. Kitts during the 17th and 18th centuries. Brimstone Hill houses a museum that displays restored barracks with bayonets and musket balls. The panoramic view from this fortress is breathtaking.
Courthouse and Public Library The Nevis Courthouse and Public Library was built in 1825 and is an imposing example of colonial stone architecture. Its windows stand open in a welcoming way and its first-floor shutters do double duty as the bulletin board for legal notices.
Indian Castle Race Track Situated in Gingerland, it is run by the Nevis Turf and Jockey Club. Open on holidays for horse racing, beginning at 1:00 pm. Contact president Richard Luppinacci at (869) 469-2201 for more information.
Montpelier House Montpelier House was the site of Lord Nelson's marriage to Fanny Nisbet and her girlhood home. Nothing remains of the original house except the estate's entrance pillars, but it shares the grounds with the great house of Montpelier Plantation Inn, a sugar mill dating from 1794 and beautiful trees and gardens.

Caribbean Travel Tip Jungle & Rainforest Treking If you plan to walk into the jungle make sure you know what you are doing. Carry a GPS and know how to use it. A compass will help the experienced explorer but if you just bought it and expect to enter the jungle and knock about then you may find yourself in deep trouble.
If you have to venture into the bush then please follow these instructions:
- Tell somebody where you are going.
- Bring lots of water.
- Make sure your compass works.
- Mark your trail.
- Be visually aware and remember landmarks.
- Check to see where the sun is when you enter the bush then check your watch to see what time it is, make regular checks to orient yourself to the movement of the sun.
