The Water Club Hotel
A refreshing new alternative to large chain resorts, San Juan's Water Club is the only beach front boutique hotel in the Caribbean's liveliest city.
|
More Info: It is San Juan Puerto Rico's only luxury boutique hotel on the beach, five minutes from the airport in posh Isla Verde, 15 minutes from Old San Juan. A one-of-a-kind luxury environment provides memorable surprises for even the most sophisticated travelers.
The Water Club is ideally located on the beach in posh Isla Verde, and just five minutes from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, 15 minutes from the cruise docks, business district and famous Old San Juan. Convenient to the best restaurants, shopping and night life and most importantly on the best beach (still bordered with palms and no crowds) in San Juan and ideal for pleasure or business (or both). Puerto Rico offers the best air service of any resort location in the world.
All 84-rooms have ocean views, beds and work tables facing endless water and sky. Theatrical lighting brings the outdoors indoors; elevators have waterfalls (behind glass); corridor sounds are gentle surf. A superb staff is friendly.
The sensuous main bar, named Liquid, is San Juan's trend-setter hangout and a mecca for celebrities. The open-air rooftop lounge, named Wet, offers dazzling views of ocean and city. Restaurant Tangerine has been repeatedly named among the world's best.
The Water Club is designated one of the world's top 10 luxury boutiques. But its rates are surprisingly modest.
Amenities: Surprises - All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the tropical Atlantic and San Juan’s finest beach. - Beds, king-size or doubles, and work tables are uniquely positioned to face open ocean and sky. - Suites include a large telescope for star-gazing. - Elevator cabs have walls that are waterfalls (behind glass)—a first in hotels. - “Desires” notepads and pens are wall-mounted in guest rooms, to write requests for more towels or other amenities or services. - Favorite pets enjoy the comforts of the "pet-friendly policy". - In guest room corridors, enjoy the sound of gently rolling surf. Walk on neatly piled pebble paths. - Jelly beans (deposit five cents) are available from old-fashioned jelly bean dispensers conveniently on each floor.
Comforts - Down comforters and pillows. (Non-allergenic pillows available.) - All guest rooms have an iron and ironing board. - A cordless phone and two two-line telephones in each room. - High-speed internet access in most guest and conference rooms. - Custom-designed entertainment center: TV with full cable access -- VH1, MTV, CNN, ESPN; compact disc player; and AM-FM radio. - In-room safe and mini-bar. - Fitness Center, Rooftop sundeck, and pool (like bathing in the sky). - Valet parking. Car rentals available from hotel. - Complimentary WIFI Access. - Bilingual staff (English and Spanish): friendly people who deliver superb personal service to their guests.

Caribbean Travel Tip Bringing Your Own Boat or Plane If you plan to arrive in the Caribbean in your own boat or plane, contact the embassy, consulate, or tourist office of each country you plan to visit to learn what is required for entry and exit. Besides title of ownership, most ports of entry will require proof of insurance coverage for the country you are entering. Some countries require a temporary import permit for your boat or plane.
Authorities in the Caribbean are familiar with U.S. regulations for documentation of air and sea craft. They will detain improperly documented craft that enter their territory. In some countries, authorities will confiscate firearms found on a boat or plane unless the owner or master can show proof that U.S. licensing and export procedures have been followed. In addition, some countries impose stiff prison terms for the importation of illegal firearms.
