The beaches are pristine and uncrowded. Grassy park like Sun Bay offers great swimming with a classic crescent palm lined beach. Horses roam free on the island, and are ridden by the local Paso Fino enthusiasts. The island offers great snorkeling, scuba diving and night time trips to one of worlds finest bioluminescent bays. Vieques is known as an artist island, the little museum in Esperanza features local archaeological finds.

How to Make Authentic Mexican Cerviche How to Make Authentic Mexican Cerviche - Playa del Carmen
First let me explain why I call it authentic Mexican cerviche. I lived in the Yucatan Peninsula over 20 years ago at the beginning of the birth of Cancun. I worked on boats every day and learned to make Mexican food dishes from the natives I worked with.

Lesser Antilles vs Greater Antilles / Windward Islands vs Leeward Islands - Confused Yet? Lesser Antilles vs Greater Antilles / Windward Islands vs Leeward Islands - Confused Yet? - Caribbean

Places to Go
About St John, U.S. Virgin Islands About St John, U.S. Virgin Islands - St. John
Of all the islands, St John is probably the most unspoiled, thanks to the contribution of one of the world's best known philanthropists, Laurence Rockefeller. Had it not been for Rockefeller's gift of money and his desire to preserve beautiful St John, the landscape would probably look more commercial, much like the other Virgin Islands.

For the past four days, we'd been experiencing Trinidad's Carnival, a pulsating heartbeat of humanity that winds through the streets of Port of Spain. We'd chipped, we'd shuffled, we had lost ourselves in the pounding rhythm of the Caribbean's largest annual celebration that for many serves as an annual rebirth.

Caribbean Travel Tip

Water Safety
Make certain that sports equipment, including scuba equipment, that you rent or buy meets international safety standards. If you use a beach without a lifeguard, exercise extreme caution. Drowning is one of the leading causes of death for Americans in the Caribbean. Do not dive into unknown bodies of water because hidden rocks or shallow depths can cause serious injury or death. In some places, you may need to wear sneakers in the water for protection against sea urchins.
