Casa Grande Mountain Retreat
Set in a stunning valley on 107 lush tropical acres less than two hours from San Juan, Casa Grande Mountain Retreat is an oasis of peace and tranquility.

More Info: The former coffee plantation, now exquisitely landscaped, has 20 rooms scattered up the mountainside, each with private bath, balcony, and hammock. A fresh-water swimming pool is cradled beneath a green mountain vista. A fully equipped yoga center is used for individual and group practice. Jungle Jane's Restaurant serves local and international dishes.
Casa Grande has 20 rooms, 4 in each of 5 wooden buildings supported by cement columns. 10 rooms have queen size beds for one or two people. The other ten have two full-size beds to accommodate up to four people. All rooms have screened windows, a dresser, night table or night stand, reading light, clothes pole and shelf, private bathroom (hot and cold water) with shower (no tub), private balcony with hammock, and wall fan. Rooms have no cooking facilities, tv, radio, a/c or telephone. There is a public phone on the property.
Nearby Attractions: Yoga Classes and Retreats
Veeta, a Kripalu certified yoga teacher, conducts class twice a day; 8 am and 5 pm in the fully equiped yoga center. Yoga teachers from Puerto Rico and the U.S. conduct weekend and weeklong retreats at Casa Grande.
Gardens
Casa Grande is a virtual botanical garden. Throughout the property are both landscaped and wild areas where fruit trees and tropical and exotic plants abound. Over one hundred varieties have been identified including numerous ginger and heliconia. Jungle Jane's restaurant harvests and serves grapefruit, orange, lemon, mango, avocado, banana, papaya, plaintain, peppers, herbs and spices.
Hiking Trail
There is a sporty hiking trail on the grounds between the road and the river. If you don't stop to meditate, it's a 20 minute walk.
Kayaking

Arecibo Observatory
The largest radio telescope on Earth is located an hour away from the hotel. Visitors are welcome to see its mammoth reflective dish. Scheduled days and hours: Wednesday-Friday 12-4 pm, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays 9am-4 pm. Call 787-878-2612.
RÃo Camuy Cave Park
This cave system, famous for its underground river, is considered one of the biggest in the world. Guides will take you from Parque de las Cavernas' Tourist Center into different caverns around the park. Scheduled days and hours: Wednesday-Sunday and certain Holidays from 8 am to 3:35 pm.
Caguana Indian Ceremonial Park
Visit the Caribbean's most important indian ceremonial center. Scheduled days and hours: Open daily from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Call 787-894-7325.
Toro Negro State Forest
Hikers will enjoy walking the many trails. Stop and climb up Cerro de Punta, Puerto Rico's highest mountain. Call 787-844-4660.
Amenities: We provide soap (no shampoo), sheets, pillows, pillowcases, blankets, towels, washcloths and bath mats.
Ice is available free of charge. Smoking and the use of candles or incense is not permitted. Food is discouraged in the rooms as it might invite unwanted visitors.
