Villa DiPol is owned and designed by John DiPol, who is known for creating the original open wall concept at the near by world famous Ladera Resort. The interiors are well appointed with antiquies, four poster beds and locally made furnishings.
The Villa is layed out in three semi detatched bulidings as follows:
The central buliding is a large living room and dining room that opens on the leeward side to a tiled patio and pool with a magnificient view of the Petit Piton. There is a great kitchen with modern applances, carved wood cabinets and stained glass windows.
The guest quarters building has two bedrooms with four poster beds and a large adjoining bath room. Access to this buliding is over an inside water-way which connects to the main pool by a water wheel and a viewing tower.
The third building has a two story structure. The upper floor is a large master bedroom, dressing room with private sundeck and bath with an indoor/outdoor tub/shower inset in ceramic tiles. Downstairs is a game room with a pool table, darts, wet-bar and a bathroom with shower, (which can be used by the guests if guest bathroom is occupied). This buliding also houses the garage, workshop and laundry.
Note that buildings walls are constructed of 16" thick stone. The roof is wallaba shingles. This structure in combination with the 800 ft elevation eliminates the need for air conditioning.
Nearby Attractions:
Nearby attractions: The property is bordered on one side by Union Vale plantation owned by the "World Finest Chocolate Co." and on the other side by Lord Glenn Conner's (of life styles of the rich and famous) private home development. Lord Glenn Conner also operates his Bang resturant and entertainment complex where you can rub elbows with celebrities. Just beyond the Bang is the Jalosie Hilton with a white sandy beach and many activites available, such as tennis and windsurfing. Other hotels nearby are Anse Chastanet hotel which has one of the best Scuba programs in the world and also provides mountain biking. The Hummingbird resort, a well known yacht haven, has another great restaurant. The Stonefield resort and restaurant, Lahaut and The Still and last but not least and previously mentioned is Ladera resort where Mr. DiPol takes a personal interest as the original owner designer/developer are all withing a short drive.
There are many more fine restaurants and shopping available in the nearby town of Soufriere. In addition there is Diamond Estate with its famous waterfall, botanical gardens and mineral baths which were originally constructed by order of King Louis XVI for his troops stationed in Soufriere.
Many private tours are available including climbing either the Gros or Petit Piton, rain forest walk, drive in volcano, sail boat and power boat excursions and much more.

Residence or Investments in the Caribbean
You will need a passport and visas to reside in or to conduct or start a business in the Caribbean. Although some Caribbean countries welcome retirees or others of independent means as long-term residents, requests for work permits are rarely granted. Before you travel, apply to the country's embassy or consulate in the United States to obtain a visa if you wish to reside, go into business, or work in the country.
U.S. citizens who wish to invest in the Caribbean, such as in real estate or a business, should first thoroughly investigate the company making the offer and, in addition, learn about the investment climate in the country. A good resource is the Trade Information Center of the U.S. Department of Commerce, telephone 1-800-USA-TRADE. The Center can tell you how to access the National Trade Data Bank. Among the things you can learn are how to find out if the company is registered with local authorities and how to get in touch with local trade associations. Before signing a contract for a timeshare or other real estate, you may wish to consult with a lawyer. You will need to check whether the contract contains the same safeguards as do similar contracts in the U.S., such as the retention of timeshare rights if the property is sold. You should also determine whether the builder or seller has a clear title.
