Garden Cottage - Saba
Rent our beautiful Saba Garden Cottage. Garden Cottage is located on Booby Hill, a short walking distance to the quaint village of Windwardside. The villa was built in the traditional Saba style featuring a 100-year old stone and brick hearth and using wooden pegging to join timbers. With windows facing every exposure, there is always a constant cooling breeze.

More Info: Saba is approximately five square miles in size and nearly 3,000 feet in elevation. The island has four villages: Windwardside, Hell's Gate, St. Johns, and The Bottom-the seat of the island government. The highest point on the island, Mt. Scenery, is also the highest point in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Mt. Scenery is the home of the Elfin Forest, Saba's rain forest. Schooling on the island includes the equivalent of the 10th grade under the U.S. system. Beyond that level students must travel abroad. Saba University School of Medicine with 300 students, faculty and family has become a major factor in the economic life of the community.
Saba is located southeast of St. Maarten. It can be reached by scheduled airline or ferry.
Amenities: Numerous windows spread sunshine and tropical breezes throughout the house. The fully-equipped kitchen opens on a rear courtyard entered through a Dutch door. The 100-year old stone and brick hearth is built from sailing ship ballast bricks and hand-carved stones joined by a mortar of crushed limestone and molasses. The living/dining room has an open beam ceiling with hips at each end. The bathroom has a double vanity, huge tiled shower with windows opening to Caribbean vistas and a separate water closet. Both bedrooms have individually controlled air conditioning and double beds. The den is furnished with a cozy couch, comfy chair and cable TV. The cottage also has a CD/tape player and telephone.
Outside: Our cottage faces the Southern Caribbean and enjoys dramatic sunsets most of t
he year across a 180-degree sea view. In keeping with the fairy tale quality of Saba's villages our cottage is painted white with green & white shutters and has a red roof. Equally impressive is the presence of Mt. Scenery nearly shadowing the pool deck, where a dozen royal palm trees give the appearance of a romantic oasis. The large beautifully tiled front deck is a wonderful place to watch for the green flash.

Cozumel's Beaches & Snorkeling - Cozumel Mexico Cozumel's beaches vary from scalloped bays and inlets to wide wind-swept swathes of powdery sand. The calm waters of the western side of the island are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing, and sunbathing. The desolate, eastern shore is lashed by waves and steady winds, although there are some lovely escarpments and bays safe for swimming.
