In 2002 the owners restored the building and the land with enormous pride to create the wonderful place it is today. The rooms are charming and comfortable, offering all the amenities for an enjoyable stay.
Your Host
Tim Wyder provides his guests with the international experience of Switzerland and Canada. You can be entertained in a variety of languages including English, German, French, Rhaeto-Romansh and Spanish.
La Entrada beach
We are located a short distance to the beautiful, serene La Entrada beach with powdery sands and turquoise waters.
Standard and Deluxe Rooms, daily and weekly rates. Each of our 4 guest rooms is designed to provide a quiet, private, self-contained retreat.
Rooms
Our rooms are charming and individually decorated with Queen beds, private bathrooms, ceiling fans, and direct access to the terrace.
The rooms are comfortable, yet affordable, and are available to suit every traveler, a couple, or a group of 2 to 4 couples traveling together. Tim and his staff wish to make your Caribbean experience one of the best.

Local Cuisine and Nightlife
If you want to relax and go nowhere, that's fine. But if you'd like to get out and enjoy the local cuisine and nightlife there are a lot of great places within a short drive of Caribe Switzinn. To assure availability of our villa rental we recommend you inquire as early as possible.
Location
The Caribe Switzinn is located in the heart of the caribbean Sea, south and east of the Bahamas and Cuba, east of Jamaica, and west of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Dominican North Coast
Located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, near the village of Cabrera. Driving on Route Puerto Plata / Samana, we are one hour and 30 minutes from Puerto Plata International Airport and 30 minutes from Playa Grande beach and world class golf course.
Caribe Switzinn is located one kilometer from Hwy 5, Route Puerto Plata / Samana. After the village of Payita and before Costa Rica a Pie, turn left at the Caribe Switzinn sign.

Caribe Switzinn will be pleased to arrange various excursions with you. Please speak with our host for your preference of activity.
Famous Beaches
For adventure and activity you can enjoy the pleasures of the Atlantic Ocean a short 6 km away. Excellent opportunity to swim, snorkel and windsurf. Caribe Switzinn can provide equipment rental and will provide you with necessary transportation, seeing swaying palms, tropical flora and fauna, as well as local villages along the way. The famous beaches near by include La Entrada, El Caleton, El Diamante and Playa Grande.
Scuba Diving & Snorkeling
Guests can also take advantage of the wonderful snorkeling and scuba diving in nearby Cabrera and Rio San Juan. The area lends itself for beginners as well as for experienced divers with abundant tropical fish and marine life.
Bike and ATV Rental
Rentals available for our guests to visit the local La Entrada beach and surrounding areas of interest.
Nightlife
Throbbing nightlife with, discos, cafes, nightclubs, as well as cultural and historical shows and exhibitions, and two of the most colorful events of the Dominican Republic - the 27th of February Carnival in Santo Domingo and the Merengue Festival. Your host can assist you in arranging a night of entertainment in Dominican style.
Golfing ~ Playa Grande Golf Course
For golf lovers, the Playa Grande golf course, one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean, is 30 minutes away.
Robert Trent Jones Sr. design
The Playa Grande golf course was designed by the celebrated architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., on an area of more than 150 hectares (370 acres), it was inaugurated in 1997. A Par 72 with 18 holes Championship Golf Course 10 of the 18 holes are played along the sea cliffs, bays and overlooking gulfs. Also spectacular is the exciting Playa Grande Beach, the most impressive of the island.
Whale Watching ~ Samaná
Enroute from the Caribe Switzinn is the Samaná Penninsula, one of the most sought after tourist destinations. Mother Nature has blessed this area with special care, making Samaná the perfect base for exploring the Dominican Republic's finest treasures.
Hiking, exploring
Seven kilometers (4mi) to the south of Samana, idyllic Cayo Levantado has dense forests and three spectacular beaches that are usually deserted, until the busloads of tourists fill them up around midday. Hiking trails and lovely views are among the island's other charms. To the west, Parque Nacional Los Haïtises offers scores of jungle-covered islands and thick mangrove forests, perfect for exploring by boat. The greatest show of all, however, takes place right in the bay, during January and February. Perhaps 80% of the world's humpback whales mate and bear young in the waters off the Dominican Republic, and you can see them at their lovesick best. To show off for the ladies, male humpbacks hurl their 40-ton bodies into the air, breaching with a big splash.

Precaution Drugs
Take extra precautions. In your carry-on luggage bring an extra pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses and enough of any medication you take to last the entire trip. You may also want your doctor to write a spare prescription using the drug's generic name, since brand names may vary from country to country. Never put prescription drugs or valuables in luggage to be checked. To avoid customs delays, carry medications in their original packaging. And don't forget to copy down and carry addresses of offices that handle refunds of lost traveler's checks.
