Windsurf Resort
Located on the main street of Cabarete, the Windsurf Resort is comfortable and luxurious. The second largest resort in Cabarete, the Windsurf Resort prides itself on offering all the services and amenities of a large hotel, while keeping the personal touch and intimacy of a small, family-run establishment.

Anyone who's ever stayed in a resort knows that there is no better way to take a vacation. While hotels are certainly adequate for business travelers, the discerning vacationer has come to appreciate the luxury and amenities that resorts offer.
The Windsurf resort is geared towards the health conscious, sports-minded individual. Our beach center offers free equipment rental to guests staying at the resort. Windsurf equipment, surf boards, boogie boards, kayaks, sailboats, and more are all at your disposal. The Windsurf Resort is also proud to be the only resort in the Caribbean offering Saturday afternoon ball hockey games on the premises.
We offer an array of organized activities for our guests. Nightly activities include dinner outings, cultural shows, and live bands. Guests have the liberty of joining in as many or as few of the events as they choose.
On the premises, the Windsurf Resort has a swimming pool, sand volleyball court, bocce court, two bars (one swim up bar), an excursion desk, children's play area, gift shop, restaurant (Italian family dining), and a new "Admiral's Club" with full bar for guests trying to kill a few hours while waiting for their plane flight home.
The people working at the Windsurf Resort have created an entirely fun, relaxing, and unique vacation destination for couples, individuals, groups, and families. We look forward to sharing our slice of paradise with you.

Cabarete and its environs host an incredibly rich variety of sport and activities for the adventuresome tourist. All activities can be booked from our excursion desk.
Caribic Star Cruise
Three or Four night trips from Puerto Plata to Jamaica and Cuba. Facilities on board include; three bars, two restaurants, a pool, beauty parlour, casino, sauna, gym, shop medical center, and children's room. Inquire and book at the Windsurf Resort front desk.
Hiking Tours & Mountain Biking
Full and half-days tours for all endurance levels. Iguana Mama's guides take you on off-road trails through the Dominican villages where you can see the beauty of the Dominican people and diverse countrysides.
Scuba Diving
Boat diving, wreck diving, sweet water cave diving, instruction for all levels, equipment rental, and more, all located right across the street from the Windsurf Resort.
River Rafting, Canyoning, and Caving
Full-day excursions offering white water rafting on the El Yaque del Norte, vertical climbing up weird and wonderful rock formations, or exploring the dark world of stalactites and stalagmites in the "Mouth of the Devil."
Surfing with Surf and Sport
Instruction and rental equipment. Just 3 minutes outside of Cabarete, Playa Encuentro offers consistently good surf year round.
Island Touring
Personal guides take you on a culture and shopping tour of Puerto Plata or an island and beach tour to the mangrove forests or Laguna Gris Gris and to Playa Grande, irreputably the most beautiful beach on the north coast.
Horseback Riding
Choose between full-day excursions through lush mountain ranges or by-the-hour rides on the beach.
Motorbike rental
From Cabarete, rent a motorbike and explore at will. The rental company suggests a number of beautiful half or full-day rides around the island where you will discover quaint beaches, restaurants, and other sights.
Windsurfing in Cabarete
The Windsurf Resort is located at Cabarete Beach, where the magic of vast ocean, reliable winds and fun people all come together. In fact, this is one of the few issues World Champions agree on. Cabarete is described an issue of Windsurfing Magazine as "one of the best windsurfing beaches in the world."
Starting with light morning breezes and picking up throughout the day the Trade Winds let you pick the ideal windsurfing time for your level of expertise. Sailing is safe thanks to the side/onshore wind which brings in tired sailors to the well known Bozo Beach.
In the east is a shallow reef that acts as a wave breaker creating easy and safe launching enjoyed by beginners. A deep reef about 1/4 mile out, creates wave sailing conditions, challenging for experts but yet user friendly. Speed Slalom sailors shred the distance between the shore and the reef waves.
Private windsurfing lessons for all levels and ages are offered daily at our Beach Center, CaribBic. The teaching staff are trained professionals.
The CaribBic beach center also offers equipment rental on a daily or longer-term basis and has equipment storage facilities. The sports shop located on the beach sells all sailing gear and equipment, clothes and shoes, wetsuits, sun protection, and more.

Playa Grande
"This course, one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean, was designed by the celebrated architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., on an area of more than 150 hectares (370 acres), it was inaugurated in 1997. Ten of 18 holes are played along the seacliffs, over their bays and gulches." This course is a beautiful 45 minute coastal drive from Cabarete.
Playa Dorada
"The Playa Dorada Golf Course was founded in 1984 and designed by the golf architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr.. It has wide fairways, 4 greens by the sea-side, 5 greens are set bordering inland water." This course is located 30 minutes from Cabarete.
Amenities:
Accommodations at the Windsurf Resort consist of 110 total units, consisting of 60 fully equipped Condominiums for our members and 50 standard hotel rooms.
One-bedroom condo units are fully appointed and contain fold-out couch which makes them capable of holding 4 people. Plus, all units have full kitchens, one bathroom, a combined living and dining area, and an outside balcony facing the pool.
Our 2-bedroom suites hold up to 6 people (with fold-out couch). The suites comprise 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large combined living/dining area, 2 balconies facing the pool (some with ocean views, as well). Our unique 'lock-off' feature provides complete privacy to/from your guests or children.

Bring light ponchos for rain gear. These can be purchased from most camping stores. Many stadiums also carry a light poncho to sell to fans of local football teams. These work great as well. They are small and light and easy to carry anywhere you go as a rain cloud can come in no time and dump a monsoon on your head.
