Bahamas Cruises
Cruises to the Bahamas depart from Miami and Port Canaveral weekly throughout the year. Other departure ports with less frequency include Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, New York, and Charleston, South Carolina.

The most popular cruise destinations in the Bahamas are Freeport and Nassau. Freeport, located on Grand Bahama Island, is only 100 miles east of Miami. Nassau, the capital city of the Bahamas, is located further south on New Providence Island about 180 miles from Miami. Several cruise lines also include stops at their own private islands in the Bahamas including CocoCay (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines) and Great Stirrup Cay (Norwegian Cruise Lines). Cruise vacations to the Bahamas are very competitive. Cruises with all meals included and entertainment aboard the cruise ship will cost travelers about $100 to $150 per night/per person for the modest interior cabins.
Bahamas cruises dock at Nassau and/or Freeport for up to 24 hours. Guests can go ashore to explore on their own or they can select from one of the many shore tours offered by the cruise lines for an additional cost. Shore excursions cost $20 to $125 (scuba diving and golf can be the most expensive excursions). Shore tours in Freeport and Nassau include golf, shopping, snorkeling, scuba diving, city tours, dolphin encounters, glass bottom boats and more. Arrangements for shore tours can be made aboard the cruise ship.
