In 1999, Captain Michael Brown won the Cacique award from the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism for outstanding contribution in the area of sports and leisure.
Captain Michael Brown is a fourth generation captain and fisherman. He began working on boats in 1952, at the age of thirteen. He received his Master’s License in 1957. After a successful 19-year career as a private captain, Mike bought his first yacht in 1975 and established Brown’s Charters.
He will design the cruising adventure of your choice using his in-depth knowledge of the islands. Brown’s Charters is distinguished by its committment to sustainable tourism development in balance with nature. Captain Brown represented the Bahamas at the World Congress on Adventure Travel and Eco-Tourism.
Captain Brown is a champion fisherman, and the most respected charter boat captain in the country today.

Driving in the Caribbean
If you plan to rent a car, be aware that most jurisdictions of the Caribbean drive on the left. The only places where you drive on the right are Aruba, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, and the Netherlands Antilles. In other places, if you are not used to driving on the left, proceed slowly and with utmost caution. You may wish to ride as a passenger for a while before trying to drive yourself.
Driving conditions and local driving patterns are different from the U.S. Many roads are narrow or winding, signs may not be in English, and in some places, domestic animals roam freely. Defensive driving is a must.
