|
More Info: Villa Mafolie, with a truly spectacular 180° panoramic view of the harbor and town below, is located in prestigious Estate Mafolie. By day, an endless parade of cruise ships, yachts, and sailboats come and go. At night, the lighted ships sparkle, creating unparalleled ambiance. Though located in a secluded jungle setting, Villa Mafolie is just minutes away from the Danish shopping town of Charlotte Amalie and the famed Magens Bay.
Of course, Villa Mafolie is also ideally situated as a staging ground for jaunts to remote islands. You can charter a boat or catch the ferry to St. John or the British Virgin Islands, which are but minutes away. Yet St. Thomas itself offers fine restaurants, nightlife, and shopping that these other islands do not. The weather in St. Thomas is enjoyable all year long. Average temperatures range from 82°F in the winter months to 88°F in the late summer. Monthly rainfall averages from 1.6 inches (Feb.) to 5.8 inches (Sept.).
Villa Mafolie - Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is a rental car necessary? A rental car or minivan is highly recommended. All major rental car services - Hertz, Avis, Budget, etc. are provided at the St. Thomas airport. You must make these reservations in advance. Reliance upon cabs is not recommended, as they are expensive and not always reliable. Note: Driving is on the left.
2. Does Villa Mafolie provide maid service? One day of mid-week maid service is provided. Additional maid service may be requested in advance and paid for at an additional cost.
3. Are babysitters or cooks available? In most cases, babysitters and cooks can be arranged with sufficient advance notice.
4. Where are the nearest grocery stores? Two full-size supermarkets (Pueblo) are available. One, after exiting the airport and the second, to the east of town, about a ten-minute drive from the villa.
5. How do we find our way to the villa from the airport? A simple, easy-to-read map will be provided to you. The drive is but a short 10 to 15 minutes from the airport through town and up the hill.
6. Who will meet me at the villa? The villa caretaker or her assistant will meet you at the villa. It is important that A) a call be made to the caretaker should any of your flights be delayed and B) that the caretaker be called immediately upon your arrival at the St. Thomas airport to alert her that you will be arriving within the next half hour or so.
7. Can you call directly to the U.S. from the villa? The phone system is clear and directly linked to the U.S. mainland. Local calls are included in your rental. All long-distance calls must be charged to your calling card or credit card.
